Haven't watched the reserves for ages but went this afternoon & really enjoyed it . Have to agree about Vievers , nowhere near a sl player on todays showing but a chuffin good win whatever .

Did veivers play scrum half? If so cut the lad some slack, he's a full back and has never played in the halves! Has looked steady away when called upon by the first team, couple of errors but nothing too major.

I liked vievers early on , but seems to have lost confidence - even his kicking was off today . Didnt want to sound like I was slating him , havent watched him for ages , just saying he looked off it today .
If the worst comes to the worst in a couple of weeks then he could find himself scoring loads for us in the championship next year .

He didn't have a great game with the boot today and I think he coughed up a fairly straightforward take in the second half.

Having said that - I thought his SL experience showed in other areas; he was able to win collision when tackled for example, with relative ease.

Good to see us winning. I remember that we beat them by 2 points earlier in the season away and this sounds like a similar game.

if walshaw,cowling and slater are not given a chance soon i fear along with annekin that the chance will pass them by, they need to play sl and kick on now. kear brought players in from other academys and plays them in the reserves, pointless.

Do you think they are ready for the next step, thats a tough call i know but whats your gut feeling.

imo i honestly feel they are now stagnating in the reserves, they need to be pushed on as quickly as possible. the standard of rugby this afternoon was appalling, its doing them no good at all. can they do any worse al, the cas lads who the 18s took to bits a couple of year ago are ready. they may have dips in form but they need a shot now. milner, holmes, arundle, walker, thomson, davis , clarke and more knocking on the door, they seem to be ready.

I thought he went well - not a barnstormer, but a big, strong lad who was difficult to put down; I think he did the full shift aswell, which isn't easy for the big lads on a hot day.

Part of me would like to see some of these lads getting their shot in the 1st team, but I can't help thinking that we're the wrong team to blood youngsters, given that we can't protect them; stepping up to SL with WTW right now is a totally different ball game to doing so with Saints or Wigan - with the players they'll have around them, we can't protect them or develop their confidence. Meanwhile, I'm sure they get frustrated when they feel ready for SL, but there's no defined path to the 1st team.

It's a quandary.

what about dual regestering them so they could gain some first time action?
