Wasn't Fozzard but Scott Murell & the tackle was legal.

It was probably the best 'hit' of the season so far and probably the earliest turning point of the game there has ever been, however, it was Scott Murrell

Did not see whether the tackle on Drew was fair or not but John Kear was asked on Radio Leeds if he was happy with the tackle or not he said NO and that it would be referred to the RFL. He also said that the same player had also taken out Tony Martin with a late tackle also. Clearly JK not happy.

It may have been fair but not entirely coincidental in my opinion that our only playmaker lasted 30 seconds. If fair then excellent tactics by HKR.

i was late in and so missed the drew incident but i saw the martin incident from afar, it appeared to me he got taken out after the whistle had gone. couldn't see who it was but then kear made reference to it on radio leeds. did anybody hear peter roe just before kears interview?

The Drew tackle was right in my line of sight and it wasn't late, it was smack on time and fair, just a bloody big hit. Norris is just having a moan.

Drew incident referred to disciplinary and the judgement was no problem with it, it was not high or late. The other was not even referred. Sorry Norris

One can discern not only that a challenge was late, but also that it was late as part of a cynical game plan.
I bet if you use that new fangled DAB you'd even be able to find out which player made the tackle.

" Now when listenening on the radio as i did they felt the tackle was late or certainly gave that impression, armed with the knowledge that he took a big hit, Fozzard was involved and the fact we are playing a pretty ragged bunch i think he is fair in his assessment that it does indeed sound pretty dirty tricks! I played rugby for around 15 years under various coaches and at various levels, i have never had a coach who said "Their hooker is injured and limping so take it easy on him". But each and every one of those coaches made sure of it that if a player was showing some kind of injury then that was the area to go for in the tackle.

Good tactics if you ask me and certainly worked.

Actually, no, if I see one of our players giving a cheap shot it bothers me as much as if they receive one, having played the game I know what its like. No matter what the rivalry, no-one should ever overlook such actions.

Yes the tackle was fair, but i'm interesed to know how Morgan would have reacted if it was the other way round, he always seems to be moaning about something, whereas Kear just gets on with it!

You could chew on my grapes very easily indeed after I had sat on the wet seat for 80mins yesterday.

I know what you mean, its by no means an ideal situation, but after the game our chairman commented on the problems in the ground, and promised that the club are working towards providing better facilties in the next couple of years, considering the weather, it was a great turnout from your fans, and I know personal insults are not allowed but most of the stewarts at Craven Park are just a bunch of Kn0bs.

Murrel puts big hits out every game, I seem to remember some “expert” saying a few seasons ago that he needs to change his tackling technique or he’ll suffer with his shoulders in years to come. After his reconstructive surgery last season I thought he may have calmed down a bit on the big hits but obviously not.

I’m glad he hasn’t been fined or banned for the tackle, at the end of the day its Rugby League and if legal the big hits are part and parcel of the game. Speedy recovery to Drew.
