According to Martin Sadler in today's League Express, the club has recently published it's accounts and apparently it made a profit of £192,000 in the year to 30th November 2020, so well done to MC and JM for their outstanding stewardship of our club

And people say the clubs skint.

With the income reduced so much this year that is unbelievable work.

But let's not get carried away with the we are not skint thing.
We could easily have debts far in excess of that and deferred payments to HMRC.
Can't just go spend that on a player.

We probally are,looking at the dates its could pre covid l.but netherthe less qell done to club, hopefully we spend full budget next season

But remember we payed for Cats Bar roof, floodlights and the new pitch.

Unfortunately it’s not just about players, the club has to invest off field.

All the same it’s a big well done.

The 4G pitch is not part of ant deal with YC. It is being funded entirely by the club.

When you consider the average 16% pay cut everyone took and we had virtually all our staff having 80% of their wages being paid by the government then our biggest outgoing by a long way was vastly reduced. Nicely managed definitely but i’d have expected nothing less from a man with the financial nous MC has.

Clubs like ours who don’t pay out rent for their ground will be the ones that come out of this best. We still though have the deferred £3 million mortgage to start paying in the not too distant future amongst other things so as good as it is the choppy waters are still around.

No but clearly you need to have made a profit to pay for it, basic economics Luppy.

Use that money on players you don’t get a pitch. Use it on a pitch that will make you revenue then eventually you will get the players.

Do you know it’s been deferred? Not the impression I got when talking to my besty but I can’t be certain.

As i understand it the repayment start date was set to a future date (i forget how long, 3 or 4 years or something like that) will the aim of the ground being refurbished in that time and all the extra income that will bring to help fund the payments. That last bit, as you have possibly heard, is looking a little shakey right now so fingers crossed there.

I believe you’re looking at the wrong accounts, what you’re are quoting is the Community Trust accounts and not Wakefield Trinity’s. If you look in Companies House for Spirit of 1873 Ltd that will show you the accounts for 2020.

It's all about ability to service.
However, to register a profit in the year to November 2020, would still be a great effort, especially for any pro sports club.
There wont be too many other SL clubs posting any profit and it would certainly be interesting if there was a list for the 12 SL clubs.
Also, we are probably 12 months on from the last set of accounts and it certainly wont have been easy this year, with no crowds until relatively recently.

Know that in theory the 192,000 pounds is just on paper but better than been 250,000 pounds in det As some one as posted would be nice to know the det of the so called bigger clubs think it could be going on for million +

This is profit based on yearly income, so basically we have made money over a twelve month period and this our cash flow must have been ok.

The debt that really counts I’d historic debt and our ability to service that. I have no idea what this is but it’s at least three million or whatever the ground cost.

To me that profit indicates an ability to service that debt.

Marvellous to have made a profit when you consider that Leeds Whinos were recently reported to have made a loss of over a million in each of their last two years.

Yes Leeds did have a shiny new stadium to pay for but I thought there was some kind of loan from the council. Maybe I'm wrong but the fact remains they made a substantial loss two years running.
