If it's a prop and were looking in the NRL, someone like Danny Fualalo would do well in SL and is our kind of recruit. Big Tongan dude who runs the ball in like a train, only 25 or so and played 73 games for the Bulldogs last 4 years or so, but found himself on the outside last season and is without a club.

Can't think of an outside back off top of my head.

I think Hull KR have released Ryan Shaw, but not sure if hes been signed by anyone else as yet.

Hull have got Faraimo, Naulago, Fonua, Swift and Dawson-Jones as wingers. If Swift isn’t getting any game time he could potentially be a medium/long term replacement for BJB.

To be honest I’ve been looking at the out of contract players from the nrl in the off season and greg Leleisiuao caught the eye a bit. Not your more traditional sl winger but seems like someone who could set the league alight with his evasiveness, especially as cc wants another outside back. He’s signed on for burliegh bears ( I think ) but maybe with the temptation off sl a deal could be done

Agree, he does look like the kind of winger that would cause havoc, whether from 10 meters out, or starting a set in our own 20.Young as well, good spot, |Just reading a recent st on the Eels forum, asking why he hasn't been given a go with how he's playing for the Magppies and quite a number mention he's a liability in defense but you hear that a lot with 22 year old wingers.

His stats down in Cant Cup, playing for the Magpies are crazy even for at that level , 4513 meters run, 1535 post contact meters, 196 tackle breaks, 43 offloads, 760 kick return meters. Sort of makes you wonder why he hasn't got a fair number of games in the NRL yet.

Personally I interpreted a utility 'quick/'mobile' forward (can play prop, second row, loose forward), play long minutes and who is a hard runner and a big hitter...(rather than another big 18 stone prop). Plus Sele was an identified future NRL talent but has now something to now prove like Kelepi..which is almost a Trinity pre requisite...

Just reading the doggies forum for a bit, he along with a few others got the brunt of a crap start and was left out for a month or so, then after that Dean Pay's inconsistent team selections. Plenty of their fans think he's their most powerful meter making forward, others think he just hasn't progressed as he should have, which could be down to the coaching, because reading that site isn't pretty at all as far as Dean pay is concerned . They've also a couple of younger guys coming through that they're going for instead next season. Fualalo played really well under Hasler but like most of their players have gone down hill under the coaching of Pay, how he's still there is a mystery to me.
He's another one of those players that's been at the same club a few years and his game hasn't moved on to the next level like everyone thought, usually a change of club is the best thing for all concerned. He's an old fashioned big Prop, hits the line hard and as a quick PTB, doesn't offload or anything X factor like Big Dave and mostly plays interchange.

CC has said were on the look out for a quality NRL players but we're on no rush. Turner's been available for a bit, but do we need another backrower, who can play a bit of ?

I’m honestly struggling to see what we need tbh, at the moment I’d say maybe another winger. If TJ doesn’t bounce back we are a bit short on out and out pace.

That said it seems like buying for the sake of it, much better to have another look halfway through the season when we will have more of an idea of where we are short. Also I think you get more for less at the halfway point when there might be some real quality available in the NRL.

Looking through the squad we have depth in every department plus adequate cover apart from Hooker. I really like Kyle Wood but I think he plays best when coming off the bench as impact against tired legs. Not seen much of Josh Wood apart from highlights, looks like he likes to attack the line but from what I understand the clips were whilst playing halfback.

Someone might be able to confirm but was it said that Walker won’t be recalled whilst out on loan? If true I think it’s clear we need a quality Hooker, a Paul Aiton type player who can get stuck in whilst defending but also lay a decent platform for the team going forward.

Cameron King was available but I think his asking price was too high as nobody would go near him and he (like most) still had the NRL dream.
