| I don't really get the posts from a small but growing number blaming Chester and wanting him sacked and I don't get why people expect a quick change of fortune just because we want it to change.
We have a massive injury list which has affected the season.
It wasn't wrong to think we could be contenders. The early results showed that. Once injuries started the season changed.
It's clear to me that just because injured players have pulled the shirt back on does not mean they are back to their best, and the reason they are not back to their best is not an attitude issue.
For me it's time to support the team.
We have a hard run of fixtures coming up. It's no good deciding that if we don't beat Cas then there is something badly wrong. We couldn't beat them at our best so it is far from likely now. Judging Chester on this result is just foolish. We have a chance, and we may well get it, but it isn't a watershed game.
For me it's the time to support most. I'm as disappointed as the next guy but I say stick with the team. Cheer the guys who put the shirt on. Don't call for heads when much of the cause is not self inflicted.
Improving the mentality of the team when they are low on confidence because of the situation we are in is a tough task but the fans in general can go a long way to affecting this..... Both up or down.
So by all means voice your opinion on here but as a supporter my opinion is always moderated by my support of the club and my wish for the current team to turn it around....... Even if that means limping to the end of the season, surviving and then going again next season.

| We all want the good times PopTart but to say Fans should get behind the team while we're struggling is a bit of a non starter Look how many spent their money going to France to watch that. Supporters have been there for wakey but they haven't shown us (the fans) anything in return their not even trying these are professional athletes who know their job the fans can't do more than what they're doing it's still up to the coach to teach them a way of playing they like lost sheep.

| I'm with you, PT....we have been struggling for numbers out on the pitch, so the only thing us speccies can POSITIVELY do is get behind the team and give them our support...after all, isn't that what we are there for ??

| I get where you're coming from, Willy and yes, there is plenty of head scratching going on, but to suggest that supporters shouldn't support is kind of counter-productive, don't you think ??

| Injuries have had a massive effect i agree, but have we seen the best from the players that are out there? I would say not and that is the major issue.
Also agree that Friday is not make or break, but if the lads put out a performance like at Catalan in a local derby then it would suggest something is not right somewhere. Hope to see a reaction. Don't think we need to worry about getting behind them, Northstand will be packed and loud on friday i'm sure.

But I think that's exactly the point people are missing. Being out there doesn't mean you are not injured or that you are 100%
Tupou is a perfect example. He isn't back to his best. I imagine he won't be against Cas either. But I bet he plays. It doesn't mean he doesn't have pride and I'm certain will do his best. It's just the situation we are in.

2 really good posts 100% agree with the sentiments , with a players budget virtually half the size of some clubs and an injury list greater than every other team in super league its actually remarkable that we still have an outside chance of making top 5
As regards bagging chester - we were playing pretty well when we had 2 or 3 injured players - what's changed we still have half a pack missing and at least two players that should have played on saturday - no one was more *****ed off than me on the day but...
I can't make it Friday but if i was in country i d be there cheering the trio on

| Certainly not calling for Chester's head on this.
The role that the backroom staff do is an integral part of the coaching set up.
Maybe if anything, this is where the club might want to look at. Some of these were part of the set up in the Agar days, when i dont think the players were training quite as long as what they did when Brian Smiith and then Chessie came in. Maybe there's a bit of part time mentality in there.
We do though need to get behind them, as previously stated and not slate them.
Constructive criticism can work, constantly slating doesn't

That must be a tough conversation. Poor kid. I think maybe he's too hard on himself but that's also probably what good players do.

| I think lil Willy’s point was that the fans ARE getting behind the team as around 1,000 in the South of France illustrates. So calling for the fans to support the team is a bit redundant, they’re already doing it.

I'm not being funny, but do you live in some kind of fairytale existence?! Comments on here, comments to your mate coming out of the ground, comments in the pub etc are going to be reflective of performances on the field, mostly negative because the performances aren't very good?! If the performances/results improve........so will the comments?!! Let's be honest, an RL team getting a bit of stick is pretty tame as far as professional sport goes. Footballers in South America have been murdered for playing badly!!!! It goes with the territory, rightly or wrongly. Also the coach you are defending said 95% of RL is about attitude, yet you don't agree with him? I assume that's why he apologised after the game, for the players' attitude towards the game in question.........but I could be wrong.

| Why can't players/coaches use criticism as a motivational tool? When Warrington did their promo ad for their fixture against Hull it worked against them, because Radford and his team used it as motivation, and they went there and won. Criticism doesn't always have to be negative, it can be thrown right back at the critic if it motivates and inspires. It probably all depends on the person(s) mentality and their make up as a person.......

| Jordan crowther copped for some awful abuse from a Wakey supporter at the end of the game on Saturday. Everyone was fed up after the team display but I guarantee you he pulls the shirt on every week and wears it with pride. He was by no means the worst out there and always tries as do most of them. I’ll be there in Friday as usual. We’ve been through worse and all we ask is that the effort given is 100%

Indeed. Look at London first game this year. Buzz about the new season, coach and players talking pre match about reasonable but exciting prospects for the season, fans going down in droves, social media just filled with excited fans and just all round positivity. And all those Wakey fans got repaid with the most embarrassing start imaginable.
The Leeds Easter Monday game I would say the fans cheered the team into win. You could see with the injuries to key players that everyone was scraping to win.

Sounds idyllic. Obviously I don't know you at all, but going from your posts, I think you're a good bloke who would find it hard to criticise anyone, a glass half full kinda guy, always sees the good in everybody. I think you would give pats on the back, and encourage no matter what, and it would go against your better nature to be critical, which you know what, you'd be a better man than me honestly. I just think you find it hard to understand people who criticise, because you can't see how that helps a certain situation? But I think you're missing the point mate?!! They are being critical because they can't see how that would make a situation worse than it already is?! It's a way of releasing frustration I guess, venting anger, letting off steam, maybe feeling slightly cheated in their eyes, that they've paid their hard earned, and they ain't getting value for their money?!! No team in any sport has a divine right to win any game, and losses have to be taken on the chin etc.......but in my eyes, there's a way to lose, and the way we lost to London twice, Salford and the last game to me were unacceptable, because we didn't compete. You may disagree, which is fair enough, as it isn't an exact science as re. 'effort' being put in. I bet though we are both in agreement that both of us and 99% of people on here want a successful Wakefield Trinity, after seemingly endless years of false dawns and disappointment, and most of the waffle on here is pure frustration, and not malicious in any way.....
