We’re all disappointed but to say we had no heart makes this post laughable.

| Very poor, though not sure about MPG.
Given the start we had and the very competetive close defeats, I am being honest in saying I am disappointed. We have our best squad on paper, but compared to last year I think we just aren't clicking.

Maybe not but game for game I suspect we're pretty much on a par with last year. Beat the teams at Trinity's level and below, take the odd scalp, that's where we are as a club. Chances are we'll finish outside the top 8, my initial thoughts were a 9th to 5th finish. We're not a top four club funding wise so unless one of the big boys has a mare were unlikely to bother that level.
As it happens I don't bother looking at the table until it matters towards the end of the season.

| TBH I don't look at the table.
It could well be that in spending well below the cap, we have reached our peak now as a club, and the only way, to go to the next step, is for us to spend more on our cap.
However, given our budget, unless something drastically changes, like a sugar daddy or an extra 1k on the gate, that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
Thought the try at the end when McShane went half length of pitch and outstripped BJB was a real salt in the wound try to concede.

We are a frustrating team to follow this season 7/8 is about our level at the moment, we could only dream of that a few years ago. Concentrate on the next few games and we should be alright for the top 8.

| The pack is getting dominated yardage for is poor and yardage against huge. Watts was making 10 to 15m every carry. We really need big Dave back and the rest to toughen up in defence and run harder with the ball.
Those saying about Finn being too slow he may have no speed in his legs but he has it between the ears. No control or direction without him.
Execution and passing was terrible tonight too slow, behind the man no second phase.
Miller and Hampshire didn’t take on the line enough just shipped the ball on.
Effort was there but that can only get you so far.
Really need to find a performance next week to stop the rot

Thought it was Reece L, with England coming across. Also I thought it looked like a forward pass to McShane, but he still should have been caught.

He'd have probably knocked it down and given them another set. I came out at 16-4 so, TF, I missed the total humiliation.

To be fair when he went for the intercept we were outnumbered outside and they would probably had scored if he didn’t go for it.
I still think however it’s time for MCB to get a chance again

| 7 losses in the last 8 games and only scoring 2 tries in the last 2 games. This is beyond a joke now, we're not even competing in the losses any more. We offer no attacking threat what so ever. I agree, I can't really see where the next win will come from and we look like we'll be lucky to make the MPG with the strength in the championship this year

| They can't even get the basics right at the moment, poor passing and poor catching, constant knock-ons, lazy tackling giving away penalties, generally poor kicking. There doesn't seem to be any cohesion or teamwork going on

| The effort was there but the execution was dire. He seems to dodge criticism but for me Miller has been poor for a while now, he just doesn’t seem to be linking up particularly well with anyone. The backs are getting slow ball and his one get out move seems to be chuck it to Tupou and hope he can bulldoze through. Well teams are wise to this and he needs to expand his repertoire. We need to find some cohesion from somewhere, although a couple of under-performing forwards could do with putting a better shift in to give a better platform.
We won’t be in the middle 8’s but 7th is likely the best we can hope for. Given all the talk of this being our best ever squad that will be disappointing in my book.

| So we are 4 points clear of 9th and 3 points behind the Whinos!
Wish some people would stop moaning and not expect us to be competing with the top 4 after one good season.
The positive out of tonight was that PP showed what he is capable of.
And there is no way we will be in the MPG.

| I thought half time came too early for us, we could have done with the full set of 6 after the 40-20 as I think we had another score in us.
The game went when our try was disallowed in the second half. It wasn't an obstruction in any way, shape or form. It was a blatantly poor defensive read by the Cas defender who went for the dummy runner instead of the ball. There was a similar incident in the disallowed Cas try but the video ref didn't seem to be bothered, he just went to see if the Cas player was in touch.
I thought we looked leader-less. Nobody seemed to be in charge. In fact it took BJB coming off the wing to run a few up the middle to make it look like we had anyone making a go of it.
Pauli Pauli needed that game time but we could do with Fifita back too.
Cas were easily the better team on the night but I don't think they were 20 points better.

| What I find most worrying is that not only how we were beaten but in the last two games both teams have lost the services of what are perceived to be their most influential players in Lui and Gale whilst we were still in the contention.

I genuinely thought Tupou had got rid of his phobia of passing to his winger last season but it appears to have come back.
You only have to look at Charnley at Wire, he's scored something like 10 tries in 8 games since his return. I think Toby King got a telling off at half time when they played against Widnes, because he had the opportunity to pass the ball to Charnley but kept hold of it, in the second half King started giving him the ball and he scored a couple.
This is the problem we have, we have pace on the wings but the ball doesn't get to them, they spend most of their time taking the ball up out of their own 20.
We've got a centre at the club who is the best centre at the club who can tackle and knows how and when to pass to his winger, unfortunately he didn't play tonight.

Agree entirely about Arundel. The lad is the best all round centre at the club and never lets us down, I thought last week he was one of precious few who didn’t do anything wrong. Yet he is always the first one to get dropped. He’s probably regretting signing that contract last year, he would be getting plenty of game time at other clubs.
Still i suppose the question is who gets left out?
