Annakin seems to be a large part of plans, making various appearances throughout the season since returning from injury.

However I'm sure he's out of contract at the end of the season???

Local lad, who gives his all whenever he pulls on the Trin Jersey. Anyone share my thoughts of baffled with the decision of no movement as of yet from the club?

They may well be talking now and we don't know it.
I can't imagine they are just going to let it drift away without talking.

Personally I like him but I don't think he's going to get better and Batch and Crowther will push him down the list.......and possibly out of the team.

Usually I just come on here to troll people but I guess you're playing my role today? Suggesting Crowther would push a fully fit Chris Annakin out of the squad or even down the list is absolutely ridiculous!

Both JB and JC Are completely different types of players to Annakin for me, whether people on here see Annakin as a prop or not that where every coach we have had has played him, bar a few appearances at 13 and his running style is very much straight, direct battering ram, reminds me a bit of Johnny Thompson.

Batch has everything in the locker to be an international star, reminds me of Gareth Ellis when he was first coming through at Wakefield, cant say the same for JC, he`s not put a foot wrong when playing and always been impressed with his efforts, especially in defence, but doesn't ring the same quality.. but hopefully he can stake a claim going forward to be part of the squad here at his hometown club if he is good enough and develops, but I think ala Kyle Trout we will see him drift away into the championship as the years go on (Hope he does prove me wrong).

As for Annakin, id definitely be giving him at least another year.

Can't really compare JC with any former homegrown players yet because he hasn't been given a long enough run to make a comparison. No player in the world improves with about 4 games a year!

Think Annakin is miles better than crowther not sure if he's done anything at all to impress me where Annakin plays hard every game and I never leave a game thinking he's played poor. The injury he suffered was o loughlin fault he's showed character to come back from that . Think it's a no brainer a new deal for Annakin. Bachelor been great also . Crowther not done a thing

What a ridiculous comment....Annakin is 26 and had numerous games. Crowther is 20 and barely had a look in. Annakin is probably the finished product where as Crowther is only just starting out !!!!!

If I had to choose I'd take Annakin over Crowther, but Batchelor is in a different class to both. Annakin for me will be a solid Superleague player. Not sure of Crowther, he's had spells in the team where he's done ok and others where he's looked a bit out of his depth. I'd like to see him get a bit of size on and see what he can do then.

He's played over 90 games in SL according to Wiki and is 26.

That's it though isn't it - he hasn't had 'spells' at all, he's had the odd game here and there and to compare him with Annakin, who has had lengthy spells in the first team is totally inaccurate and unfair.
I like Annakin - but let's not kid ourselves - he's peaked, and he is what he is - a solid no nonsense, but no flair SL player. IMO a squad member but by no means the first name on the teamsheet.
Give JC a proper chance before you knock him for gods sake!

I think the problem JC has, in my opinion and from the games I've seen him play he's looked a bit lightweight at SL Level. Also he has had games probably more than Batch, it is a two way street the JC needs game time but he when he gets it he needs to make himself undroppable.

I think JC gets a bit of a raw deal on here. At the back end of last season, I thought he went well and I would go as far as to say albeit in a very poor team performance, he was probably our best player in the semi final.
His chances have been limited this year and it has not worked out how he himself would probably have liked, but it is surely too early to write him off as some appear to have done. From the few occasions we saw him last year, I think there was enough to show that with the right attitude and opportunities there is a SL player in there in a somewhat similar mould to Arona.

He is not going to be a threat on the edges that Batchelor is and he is not going to smash it up like the much older Annakin (not always a bad thing), but the potential is there for the lad to consistently take the ball up well and make 35+ tackles per game. Something that every side needs.

It's about putting strings on your bow, you can't be a one position player at a club like Wakey and younger players need to be adaptable.
I think Anakin has missed a trick by not becoming a hooker.

Played well yesterday, as he often does. I hope we're in the process of sorting an extension out with him. Earned another year at least IMO

Anakin ran like a beast last night but got smashed every time. He simply isn't big enough for the roll he's being asked to do. 100% effort but is that enough at 26?

Annakin made plenty of yardage yesterday with some strong hard running, which is becoming something of a trademark for him. Worth retaining imo!!!

Absolutely not true, a couple of times semi broke the line and was able to get up and play the ball fast while the markers were off balance and led to us getting a roll on

Regarding his roll, he's playing as an interchange loose forward with Arona
Its a ploy that has being working incredibly well, as its like having a 3rd prop on the pitch, he tackles like a lion and helps keep Arona fresh

I seem him as a long term integral part of our squad and I hope we get him on a long term deal, I also believe that there is a lot of improvement to come from Chris now he finally seems to be finding his position in the team

Ultimately its down to CC and JK and in JK I don't think there is a man better qualified to decide on him getting a new contract or not

If Chris do,s get a new contract it will see the only remaining player from the under 18 grand final winners mom in fact also remember him playing a big part in million pound game Brian Smith thought he deserved a contract but what does know at wakie they Don,t care about local talent only other player left in super league from grand final team is greg edam wonder how h,es doing u say at 26 h,es peaked if u have watched him play in is new roll he improves every game so there,s a lot more to come from annakin hope it,s for wakie

I can assure u edam was griffin is also younger than annakin it also one thing giving the players u mention there plenty of player they have given contract to when they were young were are they now I was speaking really about bringing in player like hassan who is no better than annakin Salford did,nt want him are Salford better than wakie also I believe annakin as given is all for wakie
