Not that I mind being underdogs but you have to wonder why, given the season we have had. I just don't get why everyone continues to write us off??

Firstly I love being underdog, we were at Widnes and look what happened there.

Secondly why do the experts also make us underdogs ? could it be they know F'ALL.

Just one of those natural things in life, if anything must give the lads that extra incentive to prove people wrong.

I'd like to see the odds and who these so called 'experts' have to be tipped bottom for next season. I'd bet they have us near bottom again.

Saints are on a pretty good run though.

I'd see it that way. It'll be close but Sts have new found form and are chasing a position in the 4, rather than defending one.
We don't have a great record against them up not a bad one

They have won 1 away game in the last 10 and only won 2 away from home this year.

Not going to be an easy game,Saints have the second best defence /points scored against in SL. I really do hope though that we can put a good score on them,which I think we can do. 32 - 20 to Trinity for me.

They also have the lowest points for in the top 8.

Although they have improved in recent weeks they seem to lack creativity or any sort of structure when they get near the line - If we defend how we have the past 3 or 4 weeks I cant see them putting many points on us.

I did expect to see us being -4 so was shocked to see us +2

Maybe because this is new territory and Saints have a knack of climbing back up the table? See their last season under Nathan Brown.

Schofield seems to be having a bit of a love affair with Trinity this season after many years condemning them.

I quite like schofoeld as s pundit. Says what he actually thinks without towing a party line. I may not agree with some of what he says, but I appreciate an Honest opinion. Yorkshire radio on Mondays is a fantastic 2 hours listening.

Yeah I've got to admit that he's grown on me the last couple of years, He's still a bit of a pratt at times but he's certainly isn't afraid to tell it how it is. The way he's torn into teams like Wire, Saints, Catalans and even Leeds last season were pretty funny tbh.
As someone else mentioned he's taken a bit of a liking to Trinity the past couple of seasons and he loves Finny. Like you say I watch the Yorkshire Radio show on Youtube and it' s well worth the watch.

The thing about Schofield is he's judging us on our merits....the team we are, the way we are playing and is not judging us on just the name Wakefield...a name in recent times that means a struggling side, making up the numbers and happy to nick the odd win now and again against the big boys...

Trouble is...the big boys...the Wigans, Leeds, Saints etc...the teams who've dominated since super league began just aint those teams no more...they are shadows of them, but some...for some strange reason still believe Saints just need to turn up to win...

They're not bad side but are certainly no better than us, and on every single piece of evidence i've seen this season, and recent games, then we should be favourites! I'm a little concerned the way the results have gone tonight and the fact a loss could still mean 4th place...it's a mentality I hope the players don't adopt, and of who we might play home and away etc...

The simple equation we need to have in our heads is a win takes us 5 points clear of Saints and Wigan which is massive going into the super 8's...we should be looking at putting that gap and giving ourselves a real genuine shot at a semi final place and the higher up we can finish the better...no cup distraction could be one thing that's in our favour!

Aren't you thinking of the old Wakefield Trinity of last season? I think we've more or less eradicated that ethos now.

There is absolutely no doubt we COULD finish second after the 8. This season has been absolutely brilliant and long may it continue!

you only have to listen to barry mcdermott and he expected us 11-12 last night
a lot of them are just are guessing from previous years even though we have different players so how can they make a educated decision

like you say you have to question their knowledge of the game

what there is at wakey is a set pattern to escape the drop, this is finally changing to be more competitive
