| It looks like it's only a matter of time before James Webster gets sacked but the real question is who do we replace him with? Who will come?
One thing is for sure, we cannot afford to take the cheap option again. I think what we need right now is an experienced coach, someone who can breath some confidence and motivation into the club, staff and players.
But I must admit I've no idea who that should be. Any thoughts?

| It shouldn't just be Webster, we should be looking for a whole new back room staff with the conditioner a priority!

| I agree with the "experienced" coach part.
There will be lots of names like Hunte, Poaching, Lowes etc etc, but we need someone who has something about them who could drag a team with no confidence forward towards a level of playing that the team is capable of.

| I'd quite like to see Andy Kelly given the chance (if he would come). A local lad that has the experience and more importantly the steel to get the players working hard.
Whether he'd want it is another matter, but I'd be ringing him and making some enquiries.

| Glenn Morrison would be a superb fit for you guys. Knows the club and has worked miracles with Dewsbury. Seems to have created a really good culture down there. Wanted him to be the next Bulls coach but was happy with Jimmy (For obvious reasons) and he's doing a pretty good job with the team. But if you were to appoint Morrison as coach, i would be pretty certain of you staying in SL.
Agree with Avenger regarding Clawson, was the worst conditioner i've ever seen at the Bulls. We had some good players when he was our conditioner, but we were so unfit, it was scary,

Head of Youth at Shudds and the England Academy job - why would he jump ship to one that's already scuppered and halfway sunk...?

I didn’t say he would want it, in fact I’d be very surprised if he did, but Head coach at his hometown Superleague (for now!) club may just have a bit of draw.

I agree and that sums up how bad things have become, because a SL job vacancy would usually have a large number of applicants including some with good pedigree. The fact that our club looks anything but SL both on and off the field means that should Webster go, the number of the applicants is likely to be limited and we will have to do with a short term fix or someone with limited experience.

| First target is to remain in SL…if that should happen then a long term solution could be looked at. I think Noble could just command the respect of the players and actually get them to resemble a professional outfit, something sadly lacking at the minute. I also think he would command a greater level of fitness…something else very much lacking this season.

Noble of 10 years ago would have been great but, he wouldn't have come here.
Today's Noble, although with a long list of trophies on his CV would cost us a fortune and IMO would not do what was required.
I don't think the guy could operate on a shoestring budget and I think that his best coaching days are behind him.
Morrison would be a good choice (if he would come).
Doing a decent job at Dewsbury and would bring enthusiasm and respect in equal measure and he would have great knowledge of the lower league players, which will be critical for next seasons recruitment, whether we stay in SL or get relegated.
Also, Morrison was popular with the Trinity fans when he played here and we could certainly do with getting some fans back on board as our supporter numbers are dropping like hell, which may at least provoke Mr Carter into acting.

| My ideal first choice would be Morrison because of his record with Dewsbury and his history here. Problem is he is well thought of at the rams and has a (as much as can be in coaching) comfortable job for now, would he want to rip that up to take over a team that could quite easily be in the same division next year anyway? He surely would want the security of a longer term contract, given what we are experiencing now with Webster would Carter offer that again? Throw in the fact that we would be unable to offer him big money and Dewsbury would probably want some form of compensation then could we actually afford him, especially if we have to pay Webster off as well?
I'd be happy with Noble as a stop gap until the end of the season when it can be looked at again if that is what it takes. Lets be honest without a short term gain of staying up the long term probably isn't that long anyway.

| Because of the state we are in I think realistically it will have to be a short term solution…has people have said, anyone already in a good secure position is unlikely to give that up. We need to do everything possible to stay in SL, imo for the future of the club, new stadium etc, also think J.Kear would be trying to re-live past events and that rarely happens. God I wish something would happen and quick !!!!

Fitness isn't something you can magic up and won't change any time soon. What can happen now, especially if someone new took over, would be to treat the next 10 weeks or so as pre-season to get the fitness of the players up to a level that befits a professional Rugby League team. A sports psychologist wouldn't go amiss either.

I take it you have forgotten Noble finishing with the wooden spoon while at Salford in 2013 and then the 2nd half loss against a side named Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the start of 2014 in [url=http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-league/live/match/40000/formThis Game[/url
As for a greater level of fitness,I take it you haven't noticed the difference between Feka at Wigan and the slimline version at Hull FC.

| The club certainly needs some fresh ideas.
Any new coach that understands the constraints that will come with working at Wakefield yet has the experience to work with senior players. There aren't that many available and as someone has pointed out its their availability that could be the key to who we get.
There's been some obvious candidates spoken about but from memory every single one of them is currently employed in some capacity within the game.
Trying to think outside of the obvious there are options elsewhere who would be good candidates for the job.
I can think of one straight away who's a Wakefield born and bred former Super League Coach of the Year and is currently available.

Ha, much as I'd like to it's too early for me.
How about another member of the clan though?
Highly qualified at both Rugby codes with excellent contacts in both, experience of winning 2 Grand Finals, both massively against the odds. Former international Coach, Championship and Super League Coach of the year.
Most importantly, understands the man management of top flight players.
When it comes to identifying and negotiating with new players he's very experienced.
Been involved as a Coach all over the World right up to now.
Certainly someone worth speaking to if you're Michael Carter and Chris Brereton

| I'm biased of course but that's balanced by my loyalty to Wakefield Trinity and the understanding that this appointment is vital to the future of the club.
I look at how Neil transformed Widnes when taking over from David Hulme, he knows how to get an under performing team to reach its potential. He is a play off knockout specialist who's reached 3 Grand Finals with unfancied teams, the kind of knowledge we will need come the Middle 8s at the end of the season.
He's a Wakefield man, a former Wakefield player.
He is one of the highest qualified RL and RU Coaches there is and has recently worked at the RUWC and with other International RU teams.
He's recently returned to Wakefield and is available.
Fate?
