Cockayne hasn't gone yet

First question has to be whether those out of contract are to be given one, That would help with who has to go and who stays

Kay; Goulding; Wildie; Sykes and Lee Smith are all unsigned as far as I know.
I thought I'd seen someone say Smith has signed but I haven't seen anything official.

Personally, though I like him, I'm thinking Sykes might be more than we need now. not sure what kind of money he costs but I should think he is a senior player.
As long as we retain Lee Smith for the goal kicking I'd let him go.

I thought Sykes signed a one year extension mid season.

I can't argue with that KK as I just don't know but I thought there was talk of his injury coming at the wrong time as he was playing for a contract next year?

Yes i realise there are a lot of ifs and buts, like B.C. has to agree terms etc, but like with Sykes a lot has happened since he signed a one year deal and who,s to say if the club got a good offer and he agreed terms he would not go . I simply thought we could list the definates going with the definates coming in to see how the team is balancing as we go along approaching next season.

Just don't get it. IF Amor is worth only £50k, £400k won't be raised with the sale of others, just makes me wander how long we can go on for.

Thought that might happen. Shame imho, think he has potential.

The sale of Kirmond will help a lot and is inevitable.

You need a few clubs to get in a bidding war for him but recent transfer fees show, You'll not be getting too much more than 100k.

More annoyed with this than Amor's departure. Amor had outgrown Trinity, Cowling was a starting centre for me next year.

There is a £400k hole. You have to factor in saved wages which in Amor's case could total £100k including tranfer fee.

They haven't actually made it clear what the £400k applies to.

Was Smith part of the £400k or did his fee bring us to that figure?
If we we plug £400k they say we can opporate as we are but if we only get £300k does that mean admin or just a lesser quality squad?
Does the squad that they are aiming to end up with, when £400k found include Tuson's wage?

I understand why it isn't possible to make these things clear. It just means we are all guessing when we talk about who is going and staying and what the effect is

I'd imagine the wage bill for Smith, Amor, Wilkes, Mariano would be over £300k. Add the fee on top and we are there.......

but of course that might not be what he meant.

He's dropped into the Championship for next season, as IIRC, he's going to Uni.

That Uni is going to have a good addition to their rugby team!

I am sure I read in the League papers over the course of two weeks that Liam Kay had signed for a Championship side (can't remember which) and that Wildie had also signed elsewhere.

MC said in his press conference that the Smiths transfer fee wasn't part of the 400K.

Going by what he said in that press conference we need the money by mid-late october so its its a cash shortfall and getting the wages off the bill isn't part of the immediate issue. It is though part of cutting the budget for next year so we don't end up here again this time next year.

Amor 50K. Cockayne 30K if it goes through. Smiths doesn't count against the 400K. Nothing for the others.

Kay was linked to Donny. Wildie is a new rumour though, anybody shed any light on that one?

So six players gone and we have recieved £50-maybe £80,000 so far. At this rate we look like having to sell all of the first team.

So, if Benny goes to KR plus the Amor money that’s around £80k, nowhere near where the club has to be.

Even if you add on Kirmond, Collis & Aiton I can’t see the club pulling in £300k from the sale of all of them.

There’s going to be a bit of brinkmanship from the other clubs, especially if they can pick up a player for peanuts if the administrators get involved.

The vultures from Huddersfield & Hull will then come a calling, either way we’ll be left with a similar squad to 2011 & a similar finishing position.
