In hindsight it looks like this was known at the HMRC meeting which is why they backed off.
Announcing it now simply puts more pressure for a YES vote tomorrow.

I'm feeling positive and although that could be dashed tomorrow I am happy to stick with blind faith until the decision is made.

If I were in a decision making role at the club, I too would have delayed the announcement of a benefactor until the day before the planning meeting; it's hardly rocket surgery now is it?

It's also stating the bleeding obvious though, is it not, to say that we are a much better investment with a) planning permission in place, b) a new stadium and c) a SL licence, so it's not beyond the pale that someone would indeed say, "I'll give you the money if you get OPP."

As it happens, I strongly suspect that if/when these things fall into place, potential new investors and even owners will start to come forward.

i thought wakefield council would only fund one stadium, and i thought that had already been awarded to cas? unless i've missed news since then ofcourse...

The most likely outcome will be a "mindful to approve", it will have to be sent to the SoS, but the chances of it being called in are slim as things stand. A PI would be very costly and goes against the "cutting red tape" stand the Con-Dems have been so keen to push.
In theory a "minimalist" government who have made the sweeping cuts to the private sector would welcome a development such as NM with open arms.

Been told Salfords ground building will take much longer than both Cas and Wakeys if they go through so they are still not out of it yet. Hopefully everyone will satisfy the RFL and maybe force them to change their thinking on this and maybe have an odd amount of teams and give each team a bye in one of the rounds.
