Why don't they just get an authentic Twitter account?

Sounds like we are now going to be able to get all the up to date infomation which goes on the website on an app. At least its a start from the club, maybe it will lead to better communications from the club to us the fans in the future.

I detected a sarcastic tone to the thread title, however, if the club are to move forward then they need to make use of things like this. Although small in the grand scheme of things, it’s a progressive move in marketing terms and it is a great way to keep people up to date with news and offers. I don’t have a facebook or twitter account so something like this would be ideal for me.

I wasn't aware there was a demand for silence as a iphone app. Missed a trick there...

Some techy type would know how to sort an RSS feed or somesuch to update an official Wildcats Twitter. Luke George's 'behind the scenes' stuff hasn't been very good.

Android app next please…not everyone is an iPhone bore.

BUT.....these things are only any good if they are kept up to date.

Goodness! All those media releases straight to my iPhone, how will I cope with all that information overload!!

Rather churlish to be sarcastic about this; it may be a small thing, but it's a move in the right direction in terms of communication.

FWIW I wasn't being sarcastic about the app' it's something I mentioned/suggested in a post a few months back, it was more about the lack of media releases made by the club! Sheesh!!

This is potentially good news... in the sense that they are starting to get a better online presence. It is important as I said in the John Huxley threaad, that they need to be looking at an overall better planned communications strategy. It is important to not get that confused with 'media releases'. Communications with existing supporters, reaching out for new fans, interaction with the business community, making sure that the club issues info to its people (us) first rather than spoonfeeding lazy journo's.

Well done on this step forwards, cynic in me though thinks they may have been better getting a committed employee rather than 'software', as we all know that if you don't feed info in, info don't come out. I hope it has a significant difference anyway.

Just looked at the twitter account - only 44 people following them. Shows what little publicity there has been about it!

You don't need to have a twitter account to see someone's tweets though, you can look at anyone you want in hundreds of different ways. This app however is just for iphone and I imagine it will just be an RSS feed of what's on the website. It's a start but there are better and cheaper ways.

The whole context of our marketing seems to be wrong though. People need to realise that gone are the days of mass bombarding people with just any information specifically aimed at selling things. People now like to feel that they're getting something special, a real inside look at things. If the twitter account were say JK's and there were pictures of training, lads on the coach to matches, changing room, links to youtube videos and updates on squads etc i bet there would be hundreds of people on it. Word of mouth would soon get round, things are now more viral. There could be the selling part interjected but you'd then feel that there was something in it for you.

I know the training blog at the start of the season was great but I bet some real effort went in. A simpler way would have been to just tweet some pics and little comments during each session. A few pics of players going through the pain barrier would certainly alleviate some of the comments of not trying hard enough.

I bet more people come on this forum than the official site simply because the information on here is better and has a more special feel to it (admittedly some of this info is absolute rubbish!!). Official sites just don't have that bespoke feel to them.

bit like like today's news is tomorrows fish and chip paper as the saying goes,

the only way is constant barrage of information most of which has to be good news,
at this present time the only thing we have going is the stadium's progress which has seemed to gone hush hush at the moment, it feels like we are trying to slip this through without anyone noticing,

as for the new signings if we have had to drop down market then get them announced but also if we are bring in the new blood announce this too we need to know where we stand as the new season starts now for us,

even though I don't use twitter or facebook it is opening up another link only if they log into it, I say keep the school runs going and sell yourselves to the youth of today it will bring in the dads and granddads,

Give em what they want??? I know at least half dozen people with Iphones on here and I have never seen any of them start a thread 'If only there was a WTW app'. I would lay money on it that the possibility of a future WTW app was not the reason they got them either.

Many who don't have Iphones have Andriod phones

As for still pointing at Aeroplanes many people do that, last week we had a Lancaster Bomber and two Spitfires (they are WWII planes) fly over where I live and people pointed, so (no pun intended) what's your point???
