Not on a massive downer and i really don't want to start a new "slag the club" thread, but... It's December 3rd and still no sign of a home shirt!!!

Let alone get them in the shops for xmas! Come on i thought we ironed these problems out years ago. Come on Trinity!

I thought the home shirt wasn't coming out until the New Year. The away shirt should be available for Christmas.

Why can't the club get all their new merchandise out on time each and every season for probably the biggest marketplace available to fans of the club.....Xmas?

The club must be losing out on thousands of pounds each and every season

It is ridiculous to expect that sales of club merchandise will be the same after the xmas period?

Easy to say - not easy to do - especially when getting sponsors to sign up to pay good money is harder than ever. That delays the signing off of the final design - which delays the manufacture (and we're not the only customers these producers have), which then delays the delivery and hence the being available to buy.

The home shirt has not been revealed on purpose - to maximise the sales of the away shirt first. Surely that is the right thing to do and we would be quick to jump on them if they didn't get that right.

I agree. I think it makes good business and great marketing sense to maximise the sales of the away shirts in the run up to Christmas, then release the home shirts prior to the start of the season. If both shirts were released at the same time there would be fewer sales.

Good marketing strategy from the club in my opinion.

this policy has been in operation for a few seasons now and is a good one in my opinion...


look at the number of away shirts on display on Boxing Day... sales vv good... then release a doozer of an home shirt in January and everybody wants one for the first home game....

they do it every year its incredibley frustrated when it does come we will have over ordered on large/xl once again !!!!!

you say its hard to do TRB but we make the same mistake every year surely we need to plan earlier. What do we pay our staff to do?

From looking along the terraces, it is hard to imagine that we could ever over-order on the xl's.

Better get some of that 40K spent on some grub and you will soon fit into a large!

Its not a mistake its done for a reason. Just because you don't agree with it does not make it wrong.

I think if you look around at the other clubs you will find that we are far from the worst and, I would guess, one of the best.

Just because you didn't get yourself organised quick enough last year to get a shirt doesn't mean that the club are incompetent.

There is always room for improvement, but they do their best with the issues involved.

If people want the home shirt at the time of year when money is floating around for Christmas presents they should IMO release the shirt and get some money coming in.

A couple of my friends have wanted the home shirt in the past and was prepared to buy it when money was there but given up on it and not bothered. That cant be good when there are bills to pay.

Has the new shirt gone on sale yet? and if not any news on the release date?

But if they really wanted one then surely they could wait a few weeks, it's not like we're not sure whether there will be one is it.

I think this is just another excuse for people to have a go at the club when actually I think this is one of the things that they do correctly.

I dont think its an excuse, my friends never complained to anyone they just spent the Christmas money elsewhere.

Some people do use this as an excuse to batter the club, maybe not your friends but some on here do.

The point I was making is that it's fairly obvious that we will bring out a home shirt and therefore if people really wanted one they could hang on to their Christmas money for a few weeks couldn't they?? Bearing in mind season starts in January can't see them having to wait too long.


Marketing wise this is one of the things we do get right IMO.

For most people the home shirt is the one they want. If the club released that one first people would buy it but maybe then not buy the away one when it was released. Equally a joint release would see people pick one or the other.
This way, those who can't wait buy the away one before/for Christmas and then those are the people that are also likely to then go and buy the home one as well when it is released.

12th december is the planed target date for both, my eldest always as 1 for his birthday (16thdec)
