Would give him benefit of doubt, but depends on what attitude he arrives with. If he views it as semi- retirement at a smaller club, it would be an expensive waste of time. If he saw it as a chance to enjoy his final years as a player with less pressure, then it could be brilliant.

I would hope that he had the attitude of he was/is one of the best players in recent years and he would want to pass this on and lead the way

I honestly think a player of longy's professionalism would be driven at any club, as for top money id take him aslong as the money was right

for my money we will never see the best of Atkins in the centre position he is a big strong lad with pace but he lacks the skill and guile needed to be a top class centre like 95% of all British centres
For me Atkins is a winger who would do a great job coming inside taking the workload off out forwards as Semi dose at Bradford

Not sure how much pace Atkins has, he rarely clears people and he wasn't the best at chasing down Shudds.

For me we have enough of these type of players. Bring in a quality ball handling loose forward or second rower for me.

Agreed - we now have a pack full of very one-dimensional props and second rowers.

I ask because there is a request to invest in shares to raise £100k to help procurement of players. There was talk (unsubstantiated) that Long wanted £120-140k a year.

Seems to be a different ball game to our reach. Agree with the sentiments though I would love a big name but preferably a hungry younger one than long eg a Burgess etc.
