I think he showed enough to warrant keeping him on, the problem is we have quite a few, young "are they good enough players", in and around the halves, so depending on who/how many halves RA brings in some may need to be culled.

Might get to know something with RA back from his trip.

We should look to have him on the dual reg list, maybe back at Batley?
Having him train with someone like Tim Smith during the week & practice/refine himself out on loan.

Personally I think we should look to Batley for a semi-permanent partner to dual reg with.

I think dual Reg would be beneficial to Spiers, Kaye, Moore, cowling this year.

Totally agree. I think the lack of certainty/lack of feasible planning in previous years meant we never explored this option to the extent Wigan do- with much success.

In the case of Wigan-Widnes: Widnes were happy to take the players & happy to accept the informal "feeder team" tag that comes with it (in some peoples eyes).
Half our problem IMO is that the rivalry with smaller clubs in our immediate area (i.e Fev) mean that the idea of "playing to our fiddle" would never sit right & would be very unpopular with fans, even if we were providing a high quality of player for the championship. Wigans only problem now is finding a suitable replacement club for the promoted Widnes.

Batley may be far enough removed from our locality to work.

If we live in a franchise age this is the way to go. I know it doesn't sit well with many British sporting traditions (P&R) but it works in Australia (NSW cup to NRL), you just have to look at not only the level of quality the system produces but also the depth of this quality to know the system works- for them anyway. But if we live in a franchise age how long before it is imported over here?

On the subject of dual Reg we all know a club who have just got promotion coached by an ex player.Just a thought like

Widnes have signed Aussie stand off Antony Watts, so we may be in for Tim Smith after all.

Hope not theres must be better than him out there.

But realistically will we be in for any of the big names? Smith has always had good skills. Dont forget that.

Jonh (who knows everything) says that Smith has decent hands. I can't pass any reasonable judgement having barely seen him but we have to be realistic about who we can sign

I'd prefer to play Moore than Smith. Everytime i've seen Smith in the last couple of years he looks like a players whose bottle has gone.

Talking to a former Batley team mate of his, he reckons moore has all the skills req for him to become a very good number 7 but is not yet rugby tough enough to be playing super league. Perhaps a dual reg deal with York could work out well in the long run.

That's where hopefully Clawson will come through! Moore will be there in the wings if our halfs lose form which happens. It's up to Moore to take any chance he gets.

If we. Are in for Tim smith then he will be better than what we have had since Brough. Smith is only 25/26 still and should now be hitting his prime 4/5 years. Be happy with that.

York made a cheeky enquiry due to all the speculation regarding new half back signings ? but got nowhere with it, Why would he want to leave wakey he's the only SH we have ?. The future is Wakefield !!!

York would be better off exploring the option of dual registration with Liam Kaye and or Kieran Hyde. Both would go well in championship while pushing for a shot at wakey.
