Although Godinet was not up to scratch with ball in hand, his defence was excellent last week and we'll need plenty of defenders on Sunday !

Is that the same calf strain that they said he had last week even though he said he was fully fit....?

| Wigan squad:
Greg Burke, Josh Charnley, Connor Farrell, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Darrell Goulding, Sam Hopkins, Jack Hughes, Jordan James, Jack Murphy, Sean O'Loughlin, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Matty Smith, Ryan Sutton, Scott Taylor, George Williams, Callum Wright
Quite a bit of youth in their squad and as good as they are it does leave us with a chance of an upset.

| I wonder if that Wigan squad is the youngest squad ever put out for a SL game. What a very very impressive junior set up they have.

Goulding
Gelling
Williams

Wright
Flower
Hughes
Farrell
O'Loughlin

| Wane has said the 19 man squad may change yet as they have injuries to check on tomorrow. I'd be surprised to see O'Loughlin play 3 games in a week, especially with them playing Saints next week.
We will never get a better chance to turn them over.

| I have no insider info but if the club said sammut had an injury last week, and the player said he didn't and the club are again saying he is injured... Something isn't sitting right and I hope it gets sorted ASAP as sammut has a bit of spark about him that can win games.

Hardly surprising when they have the clout to cherry-pick youngsters from well outside their immediate area. Good job Toppo didn't come through during the current era.

He didn't start playing until quite late I seem to remember. He'd have been written off by most as he wasn't coming through the academy.

It is very understable for you to conclude that you have a good chance to turn Wigan over. However, there are some very good young players in that squad and they are very very hungry. Wakefield will have to play very well to win. Having seen how good these young players are I am no longer phased by their inclusion in such numbers. They slot into the system so well that you can't easily tell who is making a debut! Connor Farrell (Liam's younger brother) made his debut against Widnes on Wednesday and scored a gem of a try. It just goes to show that "if you are good enough then you are old enough".

| Just because it's our best chance does not mean we think we will win. Your younger players have proved they are great and easily fit into the Wigan 1st team set up. Good club ethic.

Oh i'm not saying we'll win! Don't think we are playing well enough to beat any wigan team to be honest. But it is fair to say we'll never have a better chance given the team selected, injuries and short turn around.

I didn't read it that you were saying that you would win. Neither am I saying that Wigan will win. I am merely pointing out that the young players are better than people might assume. This fixture is usually quite competitive and see this being no different.

| I don't know where the club has said Sammutt has a calf strain. He is fit but hasn't been selected. The twitter account and facebook official Wildcats page has stated he hasn't been selected.
This is a brave move by Webster and not without his own justification. For years people have said so called marquee / seasoned players never get dropped and complained about this. Sammutt wasn't at his best against Bradford and Webster has taken action. (I know others wasn't too). Sammutt knew himself Bradford wasn't his best game and payed the price. Whether the decision to drop him is the right one remains to be seen.
That aside it has happened and I would like to see this happen. I would like Him to force his way back in with great attitude and work ethic. He might believe the decision to leave him out is harsh (I honestly don't know) but life is harsh. He is a great bloke and fantastic player. But calm waters don't make good sailors!! By knuckling down and taking it on the chin and coming back with a point to prove means Sammutt has the ability and attitude to do this and ultimately Wakefield will benefit. Coaches should want to be proven wrong. Again as I mentioned about Walshaw when he went on loan. Sammutt prove Webster wrong 'So to speak' that he is good enough to command a place and knock Smith, Sykes or Mathers out of the team.
Fans have taken this as a negative as Jaz has many fine qualities. I'm hoping it turns out positive. I'm hoping that attitude and work ethic prevail and that when others get dropped they do the same. It's easy to sulk and have self pity. It might not be the right decision but crack on Jaz and show us you have the attitude as well as the obvious ability...

| Need to put the younger Wigan players under pressure and not stand off them admiring what a fine crop of juniors they have.
Put more burden on the senior players.

Fair enough on mentioning the calf strain but the over riding reason is he was not selected in the starting 17.
