Took the ball up in what I would describe as a half hearted fashion for a man of his size and got shrugged off by a full back again when trying to effect a tackle.

All in all I have been totally underwhelmed from what I have seen from him so far. Hopefully, he finds some form soon because imo at the moment he is not justifying his place ahead of Smith and Raleigh

Agree about Scruton and while it was Owens first game I didn't see anything to make me believe he wanted to be here either. There was only a small number who put any effort in but the majority looked out on their feet.

The Scruton situation is a strange one. Showed glimpses of what he can do. Also heard that he's going back to the Rhinos at the end of the season so wonder if he's trying to keep himself injury free.

On his current form, he's simply not good enough to be in the team.
An unbelievable lack of effort and desire for a player of his size and ability.
We'd be better off sending him to Fev on dual reg and getting Dan Smith back in.

i asked him on twitter if he was looking forward or dreading the game he said a bit of both to be honest but did say he would feel better if we win

I don't know how they are able to keep their excitement in check, I suppose the way they do it is by starting multiple threads one for each scapegoat.
I guess they are yet to realise that their opinions are just that, they can post but I doubt anyone running or playing for the club would be daft enough to read them.

If by "scapegoat" you mean they were playing really badly and were criticised it then, yes. Yes, you are correct. You're obsessed with the idea of people being "scapegoats". As fans on a fan's forum, believe it or not, there are going to be positive AND negative opinions of players and their performances. Get over it.

So Scarlet are you trying to say people who post on the forum or have a whinge at the ground on match days or have a moan about a player not doing what they are paid for should shut up.Just imagine if they did and also turned round and thought stuff it I aint giving my money to watch that then the club would not exist.As for scapegoats just look at how some of them have been playing and I did say some.Cant recall anyone making Richard Moore a scapegoat now look at one on your list (Scruton) and the difference in effort then you might see why hes on your list.We might grumble and whinge but as fans we all want the same thing.

I was actually quite worried when we beat Hull and then Widnes that all the "euphoria" would stop the alternate view posts. Luckily we are not out of the woods yet so the discussions go on.
If everybody agreed with me, I'd probably stop posting. Clearly that will not happen!..........but at the same time, I'm right and don't understand why you can't see it



As for Scruton, I haven't made my mind up. He gets through a lot of work both in attack and defence and is very solid. We all seem to expect more because he is a big well known lad but he seems to vary his work. Sometimes he hits hard and makes ground, sometimes he hits slow and gets a quick play the ball. He sometimes seems to jog up slowly from standing start which looks like he isn't putting the effort in but the stats clearly show over the whole game he is putting a lot of effort in.
I hope he has a big game against Bradford. He needs to nail his Trinity colours to the mast on this one. Anything less than his best game and I'll be disappointed.

I would rather we "rested" Scruton for the Bradford game.
