| About what is going on at the club...
Over the last few week we have
* Signed second rate, not offered deal players such as Lee, Penny, Smith, Parker, Rinalde, ... Apparently this is our new policy of signing young british players and those with something to proove - more like planning for the national league...
* The ground keeps getting put back and back and back and .......... BACK !!!! Why doesnt someone from the club come out and say this in NOT happening - we will be in national league 2012...
FACTS
Castleford offered us a branch - we decided not to take it and pursue our own ground - they now have the finances in place... A missed opportunity...
All we here now is ''your club needs you'' campaign... Buy this, buy that - they now expect us to buy the xxxxxxl shirts and merchandise they choose to buy but cant sell in the shops and buy memberships that dont even get you in the ground... And for what ?? Do we trust the current ppl in charge of the club ?? I doubt it and where did the money go for Brough again last season !!??
The Board
Its has been run on a shoe string for years and has caught up with us... The stubborness of the board of not stepping down has cost us potential sponsors... The tax man is now after us and there is no investment...
Conclusion
I will be watching them in the National League come 2012 with around 1500 ppl... However, at least we will start again, get new ppl on board and at some point the ground will come and in a few years when the lessons are learnt we may make super league again ...

| How soon til we need to be innovative, to get a supporters club running the club properly.
Maybe SWAG who have done so much for getting us moving, could be expanded for the next challenge - survival. Or rebuilding in the lower leagues if we are thrown out of SL.
I can see it coming down to fans running this club, seeing as it isn't working the way it should be right now - that is not meant as a dig at the current BoD, just a statement that we should be better off than what we are, for whatever reasons.

| I know for a fact that people behind the scenes are moving heaven and earth to make J30 a reality. We can't ask for anymore.
As the final call falls with WMDC we have to wait for them, neither WT, Yorkcourt or even this forum can schedule planning and highways reviews. Therefore we have to work on their timetable; which is the 22nd.
Yes we have had dates scheduled before hand, which for various reasons were moved back. But the application is more air-tight because of it. Elements of what we proposed sat against the councils current and future land use designs (which have been available to the public for over 6 weeks now), because of this opposing parties may have had greater ground for an appeal. With the amendments the application fits the councils designs for the land use under the LDF; meaning the same opposition would have a much harder time finding fault in any ruling as issues they sought (drainage, traffic, noise) would have to be rectified in the long run for the council to use the land as the wished (on the whole warehousing and distribution).
On our side I'm more than confident that all is in hand, it's the council I worry about!

Come to the meeting next Tuesday and ask about the progress on the stadium!
There is nothing ficticious about the stadium - it has taken longer than we hoped, but is still making good time even with the delays. This is not monolopy we're playing here, but real life and real money.

That is not quite true. The "proposed" LDF plan for industrial/employment development is this:
www.wakefield.gov.uk/Planning/Sp ... Employment
The area for employment is way less than the overall development planned by YorkCourt.
The "proposed" area of Green belt is this:
www.wakefield.gov.uk/Planning/Sp ... height=512
These are only proposals at present. At the moment all the area[u is green belt[/u
The latest amendments to the scheme mean nothing in terms of the overall plan, a few Office units have been deleted from the plans.

So the LDF plans are worthless and will not be taken into account then?

| I can see where jose is coming from yet again it's all gone deadly quite. What concerns me is are we in the same situation like Widnes were in, was it the club that went into liquidation or the owner cos the new owner was not allowed into super league for twelve months or something like that anyway. Is Teds situation going to stop us playing top flight rugby (if we had the players)??. Are Cas playing a risky game by announcing new sponsors giving naming rights to the new stadium. Or have all the teams got the nod already and planning for the next 4 years but we can only plan for next year.
A few question's that needs some answers.

| I am new to posting on the forum, although i have posted once or twice on the Giants site in the last week. I have no out and out team who i support full time, and in truth i get about quite a few, but it would be true to say i have seen more of the giants than others, However i do get to some of Wakefield's games, and i can only wish them the best in their fight to get the new stadium.
One thing i read on another forum that bothered me was that, according to the post Wakefield council have pledged £ 2 million towards Castleford's stadium , does anyone know if this is true, and if so is there a similar amount of backing for the Wakefield project.
From an outsiders view as it were, it would seem very unfair to support one and not the other, but also from that same view it seems almost inconceivable that in the present monetary climate, and with a new Government making huge cutbacks everywhere, that two Stadiums will get built so close together.
Having read most of the posts on this I realize that the funding is supposed to be in place and I hope this is truly the case, My son in law works for one of the biggest building companies in the country, his job is to win contracts in Yorkshire, which entails helping clients to raise the necessary finance, He tells me it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination, so i truly hope the money side is sorted.
The other thing i was interested in was , If the worst happens god forbid and Wakefield dont get a licence, where is the most likely place they would play, I ask this as i would still want to go watch them from time to time.
There seem s to be quite a few posters on here who are not happy with the signings being made , but surely until the club know whether they have a stadium or not they cant really commit to expensive contracts with top players, It appears as though the future of the club is riding on it, I wish you the best of luck, at the moment it appears you need all you can get.
Sorry if i have not picked the best of subjects for my first post.

| The problem you have, Is the club is not an attractive propostition at the minute, For players or Sponsors
Cas are doing great guns, The money invested for naming rights in the Metrel Stand, Will cover 4% of the total build cost, Which might not sound much, But the councils money would equate to 16%, And our ground another almost 60%, So were going along quite nicely.
You need to pursuade some people with money, That the stadium is a goer... And then they will invest, Which will then help fund the thing. Lets hope you can also sort things out, And we can both stick 2 fingers up at the bent RFL

Serious question here. How does a one piece of land (albeit a sligtly larger one) cover 60% of the build cost? I am sure that there are other factors in the make up of the Cas budget, but I just can't see how that bit works - the price of land is very low at the moment, there is the CSR coming and house prices have just gone down again, markedly. There is also the factor that the Hicksons site will have residential land for sale - although not for a while - and there is a chunk of land at Fryston for housing as well.
I can't even tell you the exact percentages of the NM build - partly because it is fluctuating all the time, so I'm just trying to understand the raionale behind the 60% figure?
What you say about the Wildcats is absolutely spot on!

What a total load of balls.
This proposal was nothing more than a bit of trickery by box and we were not prepared to walk into the trap.

So how does this plan work? Is he popular in his ward? Does anyone here actually vote in his ward?
