Hull FC have signed him and as a Hull fan I'd like to have Trinity fans views on him. I understand he plays hooker or half back and while probably not starting he'll add depth to our squad next season.

My question is basically is he any good?

I think he WILL be good but there is some development yet.
A bit like when you got Miller. Good but expectations at Hull were too big too soon.

I think you will have to see quite a few injuries in front of him to get a game.

We already have one in Trueman!

Crazy time of year - if you are half decent and you are with a club likely to go down, your agent will be texting you all day long with leads and potential offers - when your main job is still to keep focussed on the day job.

Imagine blokes like Whitbread - probably already got an agreement in principle or a pre contract somewhere like Warrington. Gets injured every other week so the fans think he is shirking. Who knows. Thankless task.

very talented player with plenty of improvement in him to come, if the coach is focused on improving him and giving him a chance hel do OK. Downside he may just be short of a yard for top level, time will tell

He's was a bit error prone when in the team. Fitted in well really. Best of luck to the lad.

He rarely had the chance in his favoured position so, we never got to see the best of him.
I think he's a much better player than we saw at Trinity but, he's not on his own in that respect.
Maybe, like young Crowther, his face didn't quite fit.

Yet again Trinity lose a British player who would be a real asset in the Championship and the likes of Lino get a 3 year contract no doubt on bigger money I wouldn’t pay him in washers

What about Gale, one decent game.
Many thought that he would save us but, not even close.

Ultimately, you have to ask, how many players have improved through the season, under Applegarth, how many ?

He may turn out to be a top quality SL coach but, this was too soon and given the squad that we started with, he was completely hung out to dry.

Since last week, being all but condemned to relegation, it's hard not to be (very) angry, which is an understatement.

As paying customers, we have been massively short changed and as a club, to lose 14/15 games on the bounce before changing direction, we've had the proverbial extracted from us, big time.

Surely that depends on the contract each player signed and if it covered relegation. The obvious good ones would be daft to sign a combined contract and those players who want away are the only ones who can walk without our permission.

I was wondering about him, I hear a lot about Lino but nothing on Gale who is with us for another season.

Well one thing is for sure, if Matt Ellis ever gets hold of the club, he is going to have one huge pile of excrement to sort out quickly before the start of next season.

I thought the tales of Smith ticked a lot of boxes for us at the start of the season, he never seemed to actually achieve anything on the pitch though, just like most of the rest of the team. Not overly bothered if it's true, but I imagined he would have helped us out next year if he got picked.

I'm not happy with the rumour of Dagger to York though, he should have started every game this year and would have been a 'must keep' from this squad for me.

When players know they can just walk away to another club with an increase in salary if the club they are playing for is relegated that probably explains why some of them have just gone through the motions throughout the season. A bigger club flashing the cash it's a no brainer, just show your face and wait for season to end.

No great loss IMO but good luck to him.

I guess his highlight reel will still be mainly stuff whilst at Fev.

He’s definitely talented, but for me he is a project player who needs the time to adapt better to running a team at SL level. We didn’t have the time or resources this year to have project players unfortunately, we needed him to hit the ground running.

Yes Mr Gale what can you say about that signing another pensioner will Trinity ever learn Proctor Lineham etc

Another woeful signing that has ultimately contributed to our relegation. Imagine if we didn’t waste the first half of the season with Smith and Gaskell.

Unfortunately we have signed Gale in the twilight of his career. That said, Lino needed to stand up more this year for sure, he has been an attacking spectator. He’s had numerous spine partners, but is it a coincidence the majority of our wins have come when he didn’t play? He’s in the peak of his career, Gale was playing in a GF and WC final at his age, least he’s been there and done it.
