Some good things happening off the field, not looking promising on the Murphy contract renewal.

Very difficult to compete when Saints come in for a player, they offer top money, guaranteed play offs every season, and the best chance of winning something. If you believe the rumours this `deal` was agreed between Murphy and Saints before the end of last season.

Could well believe. Let's see if they are prepared to pay the compo. Can't imagine it would be a problem in this instance.

well I am hoping the guy is honourable and gives his best to the club this season. From what I hear we have offered him very good terms but can only go so far. If Saints want their man they get him and I am sure he will go really well with them.

Why do we always assume the worst, nowhere does he say Murphy is going anywhere, yet it's assumed he is after ONE contract rebuffle. I swear some on here just love to feel hard done by.

It's very simple IMO where Murphy is concerned. He will stay another two years at least so long as the money is close and Trinity are on the up on the field. If we struggle again this year, and by that I don't mean so much points but the general team performances, he will be off like a shot.

Proctor lands just after Boxing Day after his wife has had a few issues with her visa , can’t wait to see him on the field , and fingers crossed a few of our new signing get blooded at the Boxing Day match

Sounds ominous really but there’s no harm in seeing how he goes in his second season before we consider another contract offer.

Unfortunately that’s part n parcel of a mid/lower table club ,your always going to get your best players picked off at some point ,we just can’t get into an arm wrestle with the bigger clubs over contract money , and neither should we in my opinion. To be honest I think we did amazing to keep Johnstone as long as we did ,think it was his horrendous injuries record that kept clubs at bay for so long . Great if he stays and good luck if he goes , won’t be the first or the last for that matter ,but I think the latter is inevitable ,considering he’s just broke onto the scene and now obviously agents are getting in his head .Good on MC , we simply cannot break the bank for anyone ,as there’s a cold wind blowing around the clubs at the moment with the cost of living crisis getting worse by the week and new revenue streams a way off for us yet , and personally I much prefer this steady ship we have at present than those turbulent times of yesteryears , even if that means forsaking a future superstar .
