I’m a fan of Kyle Evans- I hope he stays with us - it’s Sod’s law we have a number of good wingers on the books but I’d still like to keep him.

Fairy tale for him really and yet his opposite number got a hat trick and MOM. Only in rugby league, lol. Didn't realise till after the game that he's 32 years old but hope he keeps it up. Really enjoyed the game.

He’s got a great energy about him… worked well in attack and defence… His one on one tackles were excellent and he stuck to the defensive structure well despite facing the imposing Talakai and Tupou combination…


Best performance by a Trinity player at the World Cup so far … I hope he got Tupou’s shirt!!

Would be nice to keep him but 5/6 wingers seems a lot.

It’s such a shame. The lad has genuine ability and aptitude for the game.

Problem here is age, on this occasion there is no way around it. With only a few competitive games under his belt he still has a bit to learn.

Now that alone wouldn’t put me off. But as you say we are not short of wingers so realistically we can’t offer him the chances or the money he probably deserves.

Despite Scarlett’s jibe on this occasion a small wage is all we can offer. The question is at 32?? I think can he accept that he’s never likely to get a big pay day.

If I were Kyle I’d look at getting a good deal with an ambitious Championship club, where I think he’d be brilliant or if he’s lucky he might find a winger light SL club.

I’d love to keep him as I think he’s a really good player but it will be tight if we do. Hard one.

He has put himself in the shop window. Let's hope someone buys. They will be getting a bargain for a couple of seasons at least

I think it's been suggested previously but is he worth keeping for cover at FB?
He can certainly tackle and has the speed to break the line.
I appreciate the FB position is a crucial role, with other qualities needed but he may be worth trying in the role in the reserves before we think about letting him go.

Well maybe, but there's talk on another site of 3 other SL clubs who may be prepared to take him on if Wakefield don't re-sign him, one of them being St Helens!

I don't see why we can't keep him.
Lineham has to go, whether sold or on loan.
Our other 3 wingers are 1 young star, 1 young star just recovered from a long injury and one aussie we've hardly seen play coming back from injury.

It’s just one of the throw away fan pages (serious about rugby league I think) who suggest 3 clubs who could look at Kyle if trinity don’t re-sign him. There’s nothing from the clubs and it’s just complete pie in the sky guesswork. This has all come from that site and nothing from the 3 clubs.

Correct but I look at it this way - if we didn't have 3 wingers already in Murphy, Tafua (?) and Kershaw, we'd re-sign him like a shot I think. We need cover and for that reason I'd keep him.
TBH on last nights performance, he'd be my first call for the right wing.

Stood up well to a world class winger against him - left exposed (hardly surprising) for the tries.

My first call would be Kershaw on the right wing but Taufua has the pedigree and looked good in his stint last year.

As it stands Lineham is cover along with Kay. Like it or not we have 4/5 wingers in our squad and that’s just how it is. The cover is within that.

Now I like Kyle and I’d be happy to re-sign him but there may need to be some player movement to make that happen.

Who knows. Maybe the club are looking at options and player movements to free up some position or money. The club doesn’t let much go these days so we are left to speculate which isn’t a bad thing at all.

Whatever happens I wish Kyle well.

I'd like to keep him but tend to agree, sadly we probably have too many players allready signed up who play his position. Despite his promising start to life as a RL player he is behind Murphy, Kershaw & Taufua in the pecking order for me, plus possibly Kay if Bowes can claim the bench hooker role. Then theres the Lineham problem. And centre is a no-no at this point, it's the toughest position to learn to defend in, after 4 games of RL thats too big a ask. If we could shift Lineham then maybe, but he'd still be down the queue and he needs first team games. And who is going to want Lineham anyway? We'd be covering a part of his wages at least if it was a championship club. And it's not like he's a young lad. We can probably use the money elsewhere.

I don't think Taufua has done anything so far to put him above Evans.
I'd rather Kay be a hooker and Lineham go away somehow and Evans stays.
