| Need to get back on the horse and put in a good performance.
After the disappointment against Wigan a win would be welcome against a side we have struggled against for to long. I'm hoping the 3 key payers who missed out v WigN will return particularly with a short turn round.
Come on Trinity let's add 2 points to our tally.

| If we get TJ, Millar and Fifita back for this one we should win. But I never assume we will beat them!

Looking on the Cas forum, their fans have written off this game for a win. We Trinity fan’s know better, we never expect to win, only hope for a win, but I’ve been hoping for the last nine years.

| To me the team that played Wigan can beat Cas.
Although I'm disappointed with the result, I'm not disappointed with the performance. We gave a top team on top form a real challenge in that first half.
If we take that into the Cas game we should end the losing run.

| a close call to me.
IF we play as we did against Wigan (in the first forty ) and can sustain that for 80 minutes, then we'll win comfortably.
We definitely need Fifita back and preferable Miller too.
I thought young Murphy had an excellent game - even Tom wouldn't have scored that try any better (although I accept he probably should have taken the Max Jowit pass!) but his tackle of the Wigan player into touch was top drawer. He'll only get better - so if Tom can't play his understudy is no mug.
If Miller is fit, I'd like to see Gaskell given a run a LF, just a thought, he's big enough and has the ball handling skills you don't see much of from a LF nowadays.

| I wouldn't be unhappy if Gaskell played 6 again.
His kicking game helped us keep pressure on Cas. We've never been able to do that before.

| Think if T J, Miller, Dave are back for Cas Think Murphy should play on other wing .He would be outside Lynn so plenty.of know how there to help him This would let Kay to back to second hooker to interchange with Hood .

Yeah that's a good idea - if he can play on the right wing - I know some wingers are adaptable and can do that.

I thought Harry B did well when he came on, and although I like Kay at hooker, it would be same again for me ie Hood and Bowes

| Wakey and Cas are on similar paths this season.
Neither club quite firing on all cylinders but, picking up some wins.
Form is so difficult to gauge at the moment and hopefully home advantage will be the difference.

Agree Bowes is playing well. I think Poching needs to start spelling Hood better though. He’s been flogged and it showed vs Wigan when Hood I think it was got stepped for their try before HT after doing a full 40 and he looked a bit gassed that last 5-10 before HT.

It would of been good had they been last tackle kicks but they wearnt they where 2nd 3rd and 4th tackle kicks so in effect we lost yards through it

| The extra two days rest is a big advantage for Cas in short turnaround games…both will be a bit deflated being knocked out of the cup but overall there seems to be a better feel good factor around us at present so hopefully that can see us home?
Unsure on the knocks we picked up? Can’t remember Pitt’s coming back on so did he fail his HIA? He’ll miss the next two if he did?
Looked like Jowitt was limping at the end too.
No point risking players carrying knocks on a short turnaround so if those two don’t make it we’ve still got loads of options…if Millers back Gaskell could drop into full back. Pitt’s would be a big miss but there’s the option of Kelepi there or even Batch..
Might be a chance to freshen up and bring a few fringe players in for that added energy, especially in the forwards…Aydin, Adebiyi and Brad Walker all could come in…possibly rest Arona who I thought put a real shift in…also wonder if WP ‘looked after’ a few towards the back end with the game gone…Hood might well have come back on late if we were still in the game as he usually does but if I’m not mistaken he didn’t?
Two tough looking games but even Wigan on Monday you can’t write off as we’ll have that crucial extra day and they’ve a massive game Friday that could take a lot out of them…if we get the squad choices right we could come through well…

I don’t mind that. We needed to try different things..at times the three quarters didn’t seem to be on the same page so were no try scoring threats but most led to repeat sets…was clearly a game plan going in…shows we’re not going to be predictable and keep opposition guessing…

Errm no.
The ones on the line to get repeat sets didn't lose us any ground at all.
If there were kicks on the 2nd 3rd and 4th....which I don't remember, they saved us energy.

There was at least 3 kicks in their 20 on early tackle counts for me the wrong tactic we should have played the six out on attack. The early kicks were tactically wrong in my opinion

I noticed that Hood was partially responsible, along with Lino, for letting Farrell run through for their 1st try. He then missed tackles twice during the same set where Wigan scored on 39 minutes.

He’s a cracking tackler is Hood but I put the one on 39 minutes down to fatigue. Poching seems to like running with Hood for 55/60 minutes then bringing on a replacement 9. It has worked but think in a tough battle it backfired a bit today.
Despite that we had a good dig. We need to focus on Cas as a win will wash away any memories of this.

| Maybe we could get Escare back on loan because should we for the first time in many attempts actually win we will be doing Salford a favour.

I was thinking that too if both Miller and Jowitt are out. Gaskell could cover full back if its only Jowitt though.
Getting Escare back regardless would certainly help the rotation of the squad too.

Really? Gaskell can’t tackle. I’d like to see ‘the forgotten man’ Brad Walker play at LF unless he’s injured. He always seems to put in a great performance whenever he’s needed but never gets a good run in the team.

We need to play our strongest vs Cas and the game vs Wigan should be for those busting for a shot like Aydin, Walker, Bowes, Adebiyi, Eseh, Tanivalu, Croft etc.
Then play strongest vs Kr

Gaskell has forgotten more than Walker knows at this stage in his development, yes he’s not watertight in defence ,but his nouse going forwards puts him in the starting line up every time over Walker for me . Walkers time will come he’s got the makings of a very good ball playing forward for me , but this isn’t the time to chop and change for changes sake . Play your strongest squad that is available for me it’s that simple .Gaskell has had a game in the reserves after his latest setback ,so fitness won’t be his strong point at this present time ,but I’m sure if he can keep injury free he’ll be a great asset .

As I said, just a thought. There's the old saying that attack is the best form of defence, and Gaskell is an attacking player. I'd actually forgotten about Walker but the coach will as ever decide!
