Really torn on Crowther as I want to play him but both Whitbread and Batch have stepped up so I may be saving him for Easter.....and I think we need Gaskell

Would love to put Marty Ashust in but think the younger ones deserve a crack at Wigan and with his age would like to give him a rest for the upcoming Easter fixtures also with Bowes I’d have him in my starting line up but just think Gaskell gives that bit extra cover in most back positions and would love for Gaskell to get a belter under his belt in a big game for us (hopefully)

Putting Crowther into 2nd row would be suicide…

There’s only one big decision to make and that’s 4 forwards on the bench or 3 and Gaskell…

Reasonable but it may be more a precaution, I reckon TJ will play with painkillers. Looked like a bruised back, I've had that and it 't painful for a few weeks but manageable.

We'll see soon enough I suppose.

Think putting J C and Batch in second row at the start of match and at the expense of Ashurst is stupid .same as having Gaskell on bench J C to miss out for me.And they will be no way Gaskell will be in final 17 will not be match fit for a start .

Seems an odd decision though doesn't it...'saving' a player for Easter?

Forget about Easter this is a massive game...bigger than any league game coming up!

Just think about it...it's the challenge cup...who would it mean most to out of all our squad? The homegrown local lads without a doubt...Crowther and Batchelor have been brilliant this season and surely both should play....it's the little things these two do that spurs on others....Crowther starts and Batchelor can give us a real lift when coming on from off the bench...

Surely Gaskell has to be involved too? He got the 80 minutes in the reserves and showed his class in that. We won't beat this Wigan side bulldozing them through the middle with 4 forwards on the bench...it could take a touch of class from a player like Gaskell to open up their very mean defence...also gives us covers in the backs as losing backs through games has proved costly to us twice...once losing us a game and once nearly throwing a game away!

Play your strongest team that’s fit. It’s that simple. If a few players pick up knocks there’s players banging on the door to get their shot.

Yep. If last week's chosen team is fit then go with it. If we pick up injuries then we bring in fresh troops for the Cas game.

I have it on VERY good authority that Dave is fully fit and will be playing on Sunday

I’ve put a sneaky fiver on him at 33/1 to be bbc man of the match. There’s definitely worse 33/1 shots out there. He’s fresh from a few weeks off…he should play big minutes and has got form for playing well against Wigan. If we are to pull off a win he could be a key man in it…

It could be that Murphy will take Kay’s place on the wing with him moving to replacement hooker.

Marshall and Pearce-Paul out injured and Kaide Ellis suspended.

But even still, if you win you’ll majorly deserve it.

Well we've been here before, but there are positive signs and time will tell as they say.
We have a test against stiff opposition on the back of some good wins, expectations are high and probably some fans returning BUT we have a bad habit at Trinity of the team not turning up on the day - I've lost count since the last Wembley appearance of this happening.
IF we beat Wigan I'll be a lot more confident!

You’re quite right and fans have short memories. It’s only 3 years since Chesters team was on the brink of greatness after 3 seasons of excellent RL and then look what happened. You’d think listening to some on here that this seasons never happened.

Compared to that these are very early days for WP and the RL we are playing now is no better than it was from 2016 to mid 2019 despite how it’s twisted on here.

The only tangible difference I can see is a more root and branch style. Where as CC depended hugely on a core group of players WP seems to have widened the franchise. It feels more inclusive and crucially it feels like form rather than reputation gets you in the team.

Personally it’s what I’ve always wanted and I suspect it’s what most fans want. Let’s hope that what we’ve wished for all these years pays off.

That said if we fall on our backsides tomorrow for heavens sake let’s take it on the chin. If there is a Poching revolution it’s not going to be fully fledged in less than a year. Be great if it was though

Can you go back to sleep and see if Saints could play one of the Hull sides.
