It would depend if when he [ifirst[/i bought BV, he did it with "dirty money."
The court could then look at reclaiming a further asset from him up to the value, if available - of that cost.

For that they would have to prove what money bought which individual items, i’d say that would be extremely difficult to do. Given they have already done the deal rather than go to the full way to court i’d say they are done with his past ‘dealings’ and will now just keep a beady eye in anything he does moving forward. The Belle Vue deal is done and we are stuck with it. It’s over to Yorkcourt now as to whether we actually have to pay anything back or they cover it. That always ends well......

We wont need to keep a "beady eye" on him - the NCA will do that alright.
It was Hussain who gave up in the end without it going to court, not the NCA.

I was talking talking about the NCA watching him? Are you talking from a NCA or Wakey angle? And i know it was MH who didn't fight it but it matters not the NCA agreed to settle. The investigation is done and finished.

He hasn't actually been convicted of money laudering even though it is highly suspected, the NCA couldn't prove it. So us or anyone else trying to prove a specific deal from years ago was the result of wrongdoing through the civil courts is sadly a non-starter, as much as i'd like to see him lose every last penny of his ill-gotten gains.

I have to agree with SC the case is finished and will have no impact on the purchase and subsequent sale of Belle Vue. He bought the ground from the bank and then sold it to us, the case appears to refer to those properties he currently owns not those he sold.
We now appear to own a ground which we bought for 3m I believe but was actually valued when purchased from the bank at 1.7m if my memory serves me well.
The question is who valued the ground at 3m when we were aware of the original sale price.

The seller valued it and if WT wanted it, then they had to pay it.

The above is true if we were buying it but because we loaned the money then this will only be approved with a valuation much like a mortgage on a house.
