I don’t think the community stadium has died. If Council money is involved, then surely it will be a community stadium, run by the stadium trust. At the beginning of this year, John Minards said only believe club statements regarding the stadium. I hope the club/Trust’will provide details in the near future.

Surely that can't just be for the purchase of the site, Manni bought it for a song.

Presumably if Wakefield Trinity have bought the ground then no rents will be payable to anyone, and what "ownership" will The Community Trust have in Belle Vue?

Not bought but a deal agreed in principle. Another 2-3 months to ratify the loan? Also hope the whole site will be purchased rather than just the ground and some of the money be used to get some basic upgrades going. £3.5m doesn't get you much these days.

Bren, that died when Thornes Park went pop, Newmarket was always just a ruse to get developable land taken out of greenbelt, no stadium was ever going to become of it.

2-3 months for public opinion to turn against us especially come election time. I can't see this going well. Who is going to fund any redevelopment, have YCP got off scot-free? Mannis made a killing on this, YCP have made a killing and we'll look like the bad guys taking from the tax payer in time of cut backs. None of this really adds up for me, I fail to see a funding stream for redevelopment.

I'm with you on this, I feel like the clubs but its head in a noose here and it could be pulled at any moment,
until there is a announcement from the club explaining how they intend to purchase the ground and improve it I still see it as hot air from the council

I'm sure Manni has made a profit, however who's to say the loan is just to buy the ground back as others have said upto £1m buys the land with 2.5m used to start with as a redevelopment fund.

Edit - Scratch that, it seems the loan is for the sale only. Good business from Manni, well worth that punt.

Not meaning to sound negative, it’s great news and I’ve always wanted to stay at BV.
