| What are peoples thoughts on our number 7 for next season? Do we continue with Rocky or look to bring in someone to play ahead of him?
I have been wanting a quality no7 who can control a game for some time but now im thinking we may be better off giving Rocky the no7 starting spot for next season and brining in a young promising back up.
Rocky has demonstrated his kicking ability since replacing Finn and he can only get better at controlling games by playing more. Thoughts?

| Stick, he got a chance, he's shown he can operate at this level in his preferred position and can only get better. Whether the club and his representatives can agree on a deal seems to be the question though.

| Don't know if its been mentioned else where on here but League Express were reporting that you were in for Ben Reynolds from Leigh. I've seen Rocky, Reynolds, and Tom Holmes play at Cas. Holmes was the best of the 3 but I'd love to see how Rocky and Reynolds would go together.

| As we've no quota spaces, stick. In reality, he's probably our best chance of getting into the top four to be honest. We need a top level half back to do it and while he's not one at the minute, he potentially has a very high ceiling so while it's unlikely he reaches that level, it's probably more likely than us increasing our revenue to be able to spend the full cap and get a ready made top level half back.

| Stick but only if the price is right for us - we all know our financial situation so clearly we don't pay over the odds. He's good but he's nowhere near good enough to risk team moral for. If we lose that sense of togetherness in the team it wouldn't matter if Hampshire was the new Thurstone we will be in the MPG next year.
I'm probably being controversial here but for me Hampshire or at least his agent seems far more interested in the dosh than the Rugby at times. As I've said elsewhere two or three good seasons at Wakefield and the lad will be able to name his price and he'll only be in his mid twenties. People say RL is a short career and it is but it should still follow the basic rules of business then you get your reward once you've proved yourself not before. If he does the financial rewards will follow.

Chester knocked this one back in an interview yesterday.
As for Rocky, stick, he's developing nicely with game time.

| Is this a case of Wakefield sticking with Hampshire or, Hampshire sticking with Wakefield.
It's a key position and I dont think the club can afford to wait too long for the lad to make his mind up.
Having said that, he's been playing well and kicking goals for fun and I think everyone will be happy if he's at Trinity next season.

| With a full off season Chessie and the newly appointed Finny can develop Rocky. He is playing a lot better than I thought but I guess it is down to ££££.

| I would agree, providing the deal works for both sides lets get him signed and starting at no7 next year with a back up option being brought in.
Listening to the latest video on Trinity TV with CC, i did also get the impression we may look at offloading a quota player as we have been offered a number of overseas half backs. I wouldn't be opposed to this providing they are of known quality and are by far a better no7 than Rocky - but then there are no guarantees in life!

Why would we give a quota player a good five year deal for him to play back up? Miller has had a good season IMO and seems settled in his position, he is one of if not our biggest attacking threat with ball in hand - Joint top of Superleague for try assists! Which shows just how much opportunities he creates for others and I don`t even think that tells the full story around what he creates.
Why would we talk about him been dropped?

| I would like for us to stick with Rocky and Miller, unless a halfback was available that was proven to guide a team round the field, someone in the Campese mold without the injuries.

Agreed, my worry is that we bring someone in from Oz, like Sam Williams last year, expecting big things but in reality they are no better than what we already have and Rocky ends up sitting on the sidelines...but i suppose that could happen with any new signing regardless of whether they are from Oz or not.
Thats not to say Williams would not of kicked on in his second season by the way.

| Definitely stick. He had a great game tonight. He gets better by the match for me. He has been treated as a bit part player all his life. We thrive on letting talent grow. I've learned my lesson here. I have slagged Reece Lynn from pillar to post but time proved me wrong. Hampshire needs game time and a vote of confidence and I reckon we've got a good un

He has a fair bit to prove at SL level yet, though I fancy he will. I don't commonly agree with Sky Sports comments but their comments on him tonight were spot on. If you haven't proved yourself in SL by 23 you are usually out. He is 25 and this is his chance to show he has it. If he thinks he can get cocky and make big demands on the back of some improving but not top drawer performances, well good luck Rocky, you're at the wrong club and I suspect you will be in the Championship before you can say Halifax

| Absolutely!
Miller is a mainstay in out attack
He's had another excellent season for us too
Anyone who thinks other wise a) doesn't watch us play or b) is defunct of any knowledge of the sport

| I think our number 7 recruitment is one of the most important signings we will make as a club in years. I say this because we are so close to being a genuine top team
We have an exceptional team and squad
We need some one to come in and be the man for us and run the team and if that 7 is successful!
All you have to do is look at our points difference
We need a game manager, a Lee briers or a Danny Brough
There were 5-6 games we nearly won this season that we perhaps would have with the right SH
It's for rocky to prove that he can too as i agree with other posters, it's probably his last chance to do it at SL level in his favoured position
I would defo like to see rocky resign but he still needs to prove himself, he's not the finished article YET

| From a neutral point of view I thought he was very quiet last night. Maybe it is because ot was Wigan and was trying too hard. That last tackle play where Lyne was done for obstruction was criminal and he should have been there demanding the ball. You guys have obviously seen him recently and highlights have shown him up well, but if he is demanding massive money on the back of a couple of top drawer games it says more about him or his agent than it does his talent. He always seems from the outer to be making demands such as half back or nothing at Wigan, big money from Wakey, without actually justifying it totally. I hope he turns out to develop to be top class as we need as much competition at international level as possible in the halves. Got to admit though I assume his agent won't help, seems a very egotistical man. He also showed the same trait with Jack Walker making him demand to be a full back at Leeds rather than develop as a player

I agree he needs to just get on with the Rugby. Personally I think Wakefield are offering him his best chance possibly his last to really make it. If he and those around him can’t see it then they are kidding themselves.
I don’t give a stuff about the local boy nonsense or the ridiculous hype from Belly and others. He’s got a lot to prove and although he’s well worth a punt he isn’t worth breaking the bank for. If we and our money isn’t good enough then I wish him farewell and good luck.

| I just hope his expectations are not based on the ridiculous contract he was on at Leigh. There's a place for him at Wakefield and chance to push on in the game that I do not believe he'll get elsewhere in Super League.
