| This will be a tough game. They will be targeting us and we often find them difficult to play against.
But if we play like we have been there is no reason why not.

| I honestly think that every team targets our game as one they should win. We've been easy beats for so many years it will take a long time to overcome that attitude. Widnes are beatable though and it's obvious this is one that Chester was targeting for the win when he said he wanted to win 3 from the next 5 (one of the was catalans)

I was reading Shudds fans score predictions for the Cats Wakey game earlier, nobody tipped a Wakey win.
Whilst I think its fair to say it was a game tilted in the home teams favour, I think a lot of people not studying the form in any detail, default to events of the past and stay safe with a Wakey loss.
I'm sure that also occurs to some extent within the clubs themselves.......and long may it contunue..

| Widnes are 11th in the table, with 1 win and a -91 PD; they're rudderless without Kevin Brown and really struggling. We have an ugly Easter period coming up with little prospect of a win, so this one should be a definite target - against Les Cats, we looked composed, in control and really structured; if we can perform like that against Widnes, we should win at a canter.
Consistency is the key!

| It seems as if SL has just about achieved the goal of an even League. Obviously Cas are running hot and are the only side who look better than the rest. When Wigan get a few players back they will challenge Cas. Other than that anybody can and does beat anybody else. Salford are another form side and are looking very good, the two points we won against them are looking better and better as each week goes by.
I have always admired Betts as a coach, he gets the best out of players, he gives young players a chance, I like the style of play, the rugby they played against us last season was great to watch, for a neutral. I think Friday will be a close hard fought match.
Realistically at the start of the season when looking at the teams and trying to work out which four teams you needed to finish above and subsequently which four teams you 100 % need to beat at home Wakey will have Widnes in their list and vice versa. After seven rounds I am thinking that the four teams we need to keep below us are Widnes Leigh Huddersfield and possibly Catalans. I just can not see Warrington with all those quality players staying in the bottom four. Catalans worry me, they look good on paper, Greg Bird is the best player in the League and will make a big difference, if they find some home form it will be tough to stay ahead of them. All in all its a great League this year, no easy beats and only one team who look better than the rest.
Absolutely delighted with 8 points so far and we have not seen our best form yet. I suppose the message will be keep working hard, lets not worry what anyone else is doing.

| Absolutely correct.
We have the players, coaching staff and management to be successful. Everything is our own hands and improved performances are coming with the players' increasing belief in their own abilities and steadily improving teamwork.
This has the capacity to be a great season. It will probably take more than 20 points to secure top 8 but once in the top 8 all teams will have a chance of top 4.

| The thing I liked against Catalan and I hope continues against Widnes is the amount of ball the wingers got.
I know 3 tries were from kick return and dropped balls but the wingers both had good chances whether taken or not.
I've liked the work from the forwards but I think tactically we have stuck down the middle too long. This week showed what we can do and I think we should push it hard.
Great to watch.

Annoyingly no other club has been mentioned regarding this. Unfortunately for us we are linked with ant nonsence in the press.

Couldn't agree more - and even when it doesn't work, it adds another dimension that opposition teams have to defend against.

Between Johnstone and BJB they made 500m and scored 5 tries, if they get the ball then they can both crucify the opposing team through their blister pace and strength. Hopefully the team now have the confidence to get the ball out wide and trust the centres/wingers to do their jobs. I wasn't sure about this tactic of bringing Miller in from the bench but it's paying dividends, he's helping to pull tired defences apart. Hopefully they can take this positive vibe they have into the Widnes game and make Belle Vue a bit of a fortress. I'm certainly looking forward to this game

| IMO Bird is the best player in SL, think it is fair to say he has played at the highest level, not just played but positively effected State of Origin matches. A match winning ball playing, tough tackling, hard running creative forward, whats not to admire about him as a RL player. Nearest I have seen to the great great Bill Ashurst skill set, Bill had a better kicking game. I would even go as far as saying that Bird is probably the best player ever to play SL.

I know, on Beeb sports there is the piece about Wasps wanting to start an SL team, then directly underneath it despite MC saying in it that the subject of clubs possibly relocating was discussed by [iall[/i SL clubs, they still quote him.....nobody else.
The link is made and reinforced right there, because it fits the beebs big news reporting agenda, it would have far less mileage were they not linking one club particularly and reporting it as it actually is, just fluff and rubbish.
Fluff and rubbish isn't news.

| It's hardly a controversial statement to say Greg Bird is the best player in the league. He might be knocking on a bit now but he's right up there at the very least.

| I think there's a lot more to come from Huby. The man has a skills and a RL brain, he's shown his quality already and still not firing on all cylinders. If we can get some of our halfs backing him up close to collision the killer offload will come into play.
I like the speed of Hirst's play the ball, keen to get up and get on with things; Fifita's strength, being able to stand with 3 or 4 defenders hanging off. The extra second or two gained with the speed of the rook is essential these days, all the best SL sides are coached to be like this.

You're right and you're wrong.
On reputation and proven ability he most certainly is the best, can't argue that. However even before he got injured he wasn't showing anything special. Thats not to say he would not have but you can't be sure he would either. In terms of skill and running a game then you'd have to say that there have been better at other clubs so far this year.
To be the best in any sport you have to have ability and form at the same time, you cant just have the potential form, loads of players have potential.
