Sorry can't do link, but this headline has just come up on twitter.......apparently we are considering selling our SL place to start again in the Championship!

How can we perform as a team with sort of thing going on?, can't believe how horrible this season is turning into.

I started post Phil Clark!!!!! Phil had suggested last week that we could sell our franchise.

How many shareholders do we have?
I'd say of all the options open to us this is by a country mile the last choice. Leverage against the council Inreckon.

There were shareholders under Ted's reign but not now.

There is nothing in the report that says Michael is considering selling the franchise. It's based on a hypothysis that franchises may be sold and taking into account all the frustrations we are facing with the Community Stadium put 2 and 2 together and get 5.

Value the Super League spot at £12m then if they want to buy our spot we'd have enough money to build a 10k stadium with enough left over to pay for a full time squad for a couple of years!!

Read it again mate, its £!-2 million not £12 million. we'd all take that.

I'm aware it said 1-2m, but in reality, for it to be beneficial to the community and club it would need to be worth at least 12m which would allow 9m for stadium, 1m for land and planning etc, and 2m to pay for a new championship level squad

If the best that the sport thinks of itself for a spot in the elite northern hemisphere League is the value a single season of central funding then we're all screwed and clubs may as well give up now

Exactly, shoddy journalism, I asked that because I'm pretty sure the first article I saw earlier suggested MC would be putting the proposal to our shareholders, his article seems to have been updated/edited and doesn't mention it now.

i admire the stoic belief that all this is rubbish. The problem is that it is now being spoke of by many different sources. I guess none of you wondered why it was suddenly muted in the press about franchising, followed up by the timing of our announcement that we were leaving Belle Vue. Then Phil Clarke raised the possibility of Toronto buying us out.
I bet it is discussed prior to today's game on Sky so you may get to see the club reply to the allegations and then you can make your own decisions.

Sky will probably want more information on the story and I hope they do.
It would give the club the perfect opportunity to link it to the ground situation and make an announcement.
It won't happen though.

IF this were to happen I would walk away from RL in general.
The idea you can sell your SL franchise is a joke in my eyes.

Does the game have the pulling power to attract such a development.
I agree that Trinity thanks to a number of reasons would possibly put the club in a vulnerable position but only from ( at the moment ) another club .
Trinity seem to find themselves at a major cross roads on a few fronts but without information I for one cannot form a worthwhile opinion.
It's totally frustrating and unfortunately I hold the club totally responsible.
The CLUB are in danger of alienating the people who support the club through thick and thin by its silent stance.
I fear walking away from the game will be a preferred option for thousands.

Totally agree with that. If it did happen I would be done with the club and the game in general.

The figures quoted dont make much sense because each SL club gets at least 1.6mil from Sky each year. If we were to sell our place for the 1.2mil quoted we would still be down on money as the championship handout is not enough to cover the gap.

MC apparently on Yorkshire Radio now to discuss these 'rumours' - I can't listen as at work if anyone else can?

Seems like a completely stupid thing to consider , hopefully just bluffing to put the council under pressure
