| 1. Finn ( if fit) to start at hooker. Kyle Wood to come off bench after 30 mins then he is more effective.
2. Kirmond dropped. He is past it and become a liability giving stupid penalties away.
3. Scott Grix to be captain. He is already the most vocal and can see what's going wrong from his position at full back so give him the authority.
4. Bachelor to come off bench instead of Kirmond but don't leave it until the 2nd half.
5.Walker to be replaced by either Hirst or Annakin. Walker has done OK but they need a chance to show what they can do.
6.Most importantly stop kicking the ball dead. It was the single most important reason why we got hammered by Leeds. A tap from the 25 plus the extra tackle puts most sides under pressure and this rule change is having a big influence on a lot of games.

| Yes. I think changes needed but not wholesale changes.
Think Kirmo will get a ban, so would just bring either Batch or Jordy in.
Still not 100% convinced about Walker, so if fit, would bring in Hirst.
I think Tupou is playing quite well, though still has no passing game, and TJ getting little service. Not convinced about Gibson or MCB in defence, how about Finn coning back into the halves, with Miller dropping into the centres. Ive always thought he has the attibutea needed as a centre.

I'm with the Grix as Captain Brigade
Reunite Arundel and Johnstone, they worked really well together early last season and with Tupou, Johnstones not getting any quality ball in open play.
The Miller/Williams partnership just isn't controlling the game well enough and we're struggling for points, one thing Leigh will do is score points so we have to have more control and a fluent attacking shape if we're going to outscore them.
I'd forget interchanging the Hooker and leave Wood on to do the job for 80 minutes, he's fit enough. He will tire but a tired natural Hooker will still do a better job than a makeshift one being provided by a player out of position.
Ashurst picks himself and I'd mix up Hadley's defence with Batchelor's line running, even using Batch as a wide running loose forward to rest Sio if needed.
Interchange, Arona strictly as a Front row.
Toss up whether to leave Miller out completely for this one or go with Hirst but I've gone for Millers versatility over Hirst size because this is a must win match.

| Thought Sio looked poor and the pack did not have enough grunt with the ruck area dominated by Leeds so Sio would be nowhere near the 17 in my opinion. Arona was one of the best forwards on the pitch against Leeds so should keep the 13 shirt...hopefully we'll go with some real size and fresh legs off the bench...Ashurst can cover dummy half for 15 minute break for Wood.

| Sio is a wet pitch tackling loose forward.
His skills are limited and on a pitch like Leeds had no value.

Can't see him getting a ban I thought he was unlucky getting 10 mins to be honest. But I do agree in dropping him he was back to his usual self, hands on hips and saying nothing when Leeds scored we need a leader on the pitch and he doesn't offer anything a captain should.

| Jowitt in for Grix, Finn to starting hooker and Crowther in at loose with Arona propping from the bench. I'm not sure what Sio offers and Walker isn't Super League standard. If Kirmond is to play I'd star himt as you need more impact off the bench.

Wtf game are you watching?
Grix has been top drawer.
Wood has gone well.
Arona is no prop and proved his position is loose.
Walker has had limited game time and Crowther is still learning
Kirmond is on sympathy time, good player 3 years ago but playing 'jabbed up' has done him no favours. He played when he shouldn't have done but squad frailties forced it.
Walker could be a solid squad member and Sio is a dirty rough tough, grimy conditions player.

| Really don't think we need to throw the baby out with the bathwater here, these guys haven't become bad players overnight. For me a couple of changes here and there would be fine, Finn back in to interchange at hooker and i'd be tempted to give MCB a go at centre in place of Tupou. The rest just need to pull their fingers out.

| IMO Grix was awful against Leeds ... he Williams Wood and Sio would be gone from the next game!
Jowitt, Finn in and whoever turns up early to watch can play hooker... can't do any worse than the two choices on Friday night!

Grix has been no better this year than Jowitt was last, and Jowitt's handling skills bring the wingers into the game more, especially Johnstone.
Wood has gone well, but he's not an 80 minute hooker and offers more impact from the bench. And we have look a lot more organised when Finn is on the pitch.
By playing Arona at loose it's basically a third prop as he plays down the middle, and he's more effective than Walker and Hirst at present. So it doesn't matter was role you give him, he does the same job.
Crowther is a tackling machine, has decent hands and gives everything he's got. It's time for him to make the shirt his own.
As much as we all want Batchelor to be the next thing, at this moment in time Kirmond is ahead of him. Even you must realise that?
Sio doesn't bring anything.
Give it a couple of months and you'll agree, but then conveniently forgot about this thread.

My observation was...
Wood was first man behind most tackles... yet he just stood and watched players get driven back ... on one occasion the Trinity player gets his hands free ready to offload... wood wasn't looking; he had his eyes turned to see who was taking a drive... despite a huge hole opening up in th defence in front of him!
He doesn't play what's in front just the rehed plays!
A good hooker plays the game in front of him using the array of rehed plays... the team adapts to that...we are playing the game before the advantage line..primarily that's the acting half backs fault
Williams however is also guilt of playing before the line... he's committing no defenders to him...
At the moment we are playing soft.. like a rehed dance rather than a 'blood and guts' sport.
Im looking forward to Friday morning to really see what type of players these are... they have the talent! Do they have the heart?

| We were saying a lot of the things were saying now 12 months ago about Sio, and the fact he isnt a 9, I agree and dont think he is.
I do disagree though about him bringing nothing. He moved to 13 around the time of Chessie coming in and think he played well for us there all last year in all conditions. I think he was second to Arona in tackle count for last year, and weighed in with a few tries.
One other thing I will say is that while we extended contracts early last year which is good, maybe some overseas players contracts were done too soon. With the Moore situation, and no quota spots available, it left our options rather limited

| Agree with those wanting Max but Grix has been excellent in every game except Leeds so I would suggest putting Max in at centre with Johnstone outside him. Switch Tupou to the other side with BJB outside him.

I'd have Max at FB with Grix on the bench. Grix can come on for a number of positions and have impact from the bench.
There's no doubt that Max created a lot of tries down the left side last season and the lad oozes class. I would play him. Finn back in the halves for me.
