If Tony Smith had to field a side with nearly half missing through injury and others not fit I think the score might have been the other way round. His brother did nothing for us bu CC has put some belief in the team and has put up with injuries and crap refs. I think we have done OK this season... now Brian McDermott on the other hand!

From a Wire fan.Your supporters are a credit to the club + what Chester has done has prob exceeded many Wakey fans expectations.Bit of a damp squid today as many us Wire fans were expecting a closer game but that aside great achievement from where you were few months ago.

I thinl we need perspective here.

Just less than a year ago we very nearly got relegated and could have gone under.

We brought in Brian Smith who in many eyes was the messiah and 7 games in this year jumped ship.

Chester has come in taken a side from the bottom and turned them into a top 8 side. He has also taken us to the semi final. He has only brought in 1 player extra.

Are you for real? Who else exactly should have played in the derby last week then in place of the ones that did? You do realise we are down to the bare bones don't you?

Brian Smith did plenty for us. From keeping up a beaten side last year to putting the systems in place that has got this squad as fit as any we've had and a major advancement in the physiotherapy side of things. He also recruited all bar Fifita of this top 8 and semi final reaching squad. It took Chester to put a smile on the players faces and get them to express themselves and without him we wouldn't have got the success we have had but Smith gets some credit for this season.

A step too far today we were steamrollered and had no answer down the middle. This then left us in a constant state of not being set for the next tackle. This means players make mistakes due to the pressure they are put under and fatigue. What do we expect? We were missing three front line props and had Crowther and Yates on the bench who havent played much, plus Kirmond injured. They were knackered from doing a lot of defending and then made stupid mistakes. Some players will be disappointed with their performance and made errors at critical times. But, this happens in sport. No complaints from me I believe they gave their all even if in some instances they played poorly.

I for one knew that if Warrington turned it on, we wouldn't live with them. Wire are a class side and the final should be a good one.
In all honesty, our missing players probably would not have turned the result round but the score would have been closer I feel.
