Well actually. Tansey's more than likely a goner, so that's one FB option down. BJB and Owen if they stay IMO will be competing for wing spots along with Johnstone, and Hall if he stays will provide cover for centre and wing.

Having Jowitt/Escare as the first and second choice FB would be no bad thing.

Halfback is the top priority though.

Not sure Escare is gonna leave being second choice at Catalans to be second choice here.

Escare is a good player on his day yes but feel that we need cover in 6,7and 9 postion first aswell as a quality centre

Escare is a fantastically exciting young player - it's criminal that he's on the outers at Les Cats; just goes to show that the 'biggest' clubs are not always the best place for a young player who is still developing. Which speaks to the rumour about Jowitt to Wire - if so, I confidently predict that he'll hardly get a game, end up dual regged at some godforsaken place, and his development will grind to a halt. For his sake, I hope his agent can show a bit of patience and give the lad time to grow into himself.

We are no longer needing to sell plus he is under contract. I think that many assume that the Trinity of the past is the Trinity of today. I would hope that the sacrifices we have made over the last few years means this is the situation.

Carter batted off potential suitors for Johnstone and as much as think he will develop into a top wingerl IMO it's of greater importance we keep hold of Jowitt for the forseable.

We should should be hanging on to the likes of Jowitt, Johnstone and Crowther.

Also, keeping hold of youngsters from your own academy helps on the salary cap, as you get accreditation for this, such as having someone under the age of I think 23 in your top 25 earners, players staying at the same club for a given length of time etc.

So in effect this could free a bit of room to attract bigger name players from elsewhere.

Just think of some of the players over the years on the Leeds salary cap, such as McGuire, Burrow, JJB etc

As an outsider looking in Warrington seem to be one of the clubs that do their business in a dignified above board way (maybe the Tony Smith influence) maybe they offered MC a deal regarding Jowett and the deal was rejected?

I'm not sure that's true when it comes to Academy players - they are ruthless at hoovering up the young lads they want.

As I say, I'm an outsider, and as such have no insight into academy age players.

It's a cut-throat and murky world, with all sorts of dodgy dealings going on; it starts with men in long coats appearing at U15's games and approaching parents in the car park, and gets worse as the lads in question get closer to Academy sign-up age. By the time they are in the system, Wire are known to throw big money at the boys they want to secure.

Funny how this rumour suddenly appears this week and not three weeks ago - not saying it's wrong just predictable
