| I've just watched Kris Radlinski on Wigan TV telling the Pie fans about the trials and tribulations of Wigan's squad.
He talks at length about the virus that's swept through their camp and explains that a few of the Wigan team from yesterday played despite suffering from the virus that's laid low their squad and back room staff.
My question is this,
Should Wigan have played players who were still suffering from a virus?
What if we at Wakefield now have that same virus sweep through our squad, derailing our current form and destroying our chances of a top 8 spot.
Surely Wigan are culpable if they pass on the virus to another club?

| What should they have done? Asked Wakefield to rearrange the game? I doubt if RFL would have just given the game to wakey

| The way the Wigun players gave the ball away every time Wakefield players went to tackle them lead me to believe it was that where the trots came from and not any virus.
Nice bit of propaganda from Radlinski though, he's certainly convinced most of their gullible fans after the injuries excuse failed to convince most people.

IF it was genuine, 10 players injured, a virus decimating the squad, as you say a chance that the virus could spread, then why didn't Wigan get sick notes for each and every player and ask for a postponement?

| But then it would be an extra fixture to squeeze in for us later on. If one team can't raise a team in amateur game isn't it forfeited?

| Taking everything into account...10 first teamers out...virus through the camp...I tip my hat to Wigan and Shaun Wane, a fantastic performance from them in those circumstances to keep the score to 62-0..

But that would have cost Wakefield around £100K.
Here's the interview btw.

| Sick of the pie eaters excuses to be honest. Take it on the chin...your weakened Wigan team were pummelled end of..they have a big SL squad and I don't believe the extent of the virus excuse.
Trinity were smashed at Wigan a couple of years ago when we struggled because of injuries to put out a team and had second rowers playing at prop etc...can't remember loads of press interviews by the club at the end of that?

| Oh boo hoo.
How dare we beat them.
Maybe Farrell should have thought about not trying to injure a player so he'd have been available too.

Have they printed that out on posters around Cas for next week? Big bold letters on the front of the c&p express? Just so you know, Cas get the message that Wigan have injuries?

I do remember John Kear complaining about their wrestling tactics and he was berated by Wigan fans for being a sore loser...

| I actually think he comes across pretty well. Gives Wakefield a lot of credit and admits even with a fully fit first 17 available they'd have struggled to win yesterday. Have they exaggerated on the illnesses only they know that but Wakey put in a thorough, professional and ruthless performance so credit has to go to them for that. As the old saying goes, you can only beat what's out in front of you.

| I've watched the Radlinski video and I can't make out if I feel sorry for him for doing this or sympathy? All I can see is the Minister of information during 2003 Iraq war, Comical Ali I think he was called.

| Out of interest any news on our players after this game. One would have thought that if as bad as portrayed by Wigan that with the close contact that is Rugby League the virus would be spreading through our camp by now.

| Someone may want to check this but each year against us they have an illness issues or loads of niggles and knocks. This is something that has happened historically against us. They always blood some young talent against us and generally you think we have got a chance and we generally get beat. If someone has a virus to be fit and back up to play you would expect a minimum of two week affected, however they will have recovered.
To me this year they already had a number of injuries and then they rested a few. They were shot but it's because we made line breaks and they had to keep tracking back and getting set and making more tackles than they usually do, our pace tempo and aggression took it out of them.
SW got it wrong they underestimated us. Let's see the squad against Cas if it's similar to Sundays I offer me apologise.
Also even though they had people out the cap of that team will still be over what ours is.

| I had some time over lunch so I looked back at all Wigan's fixtures so far (SL + WCC) to see how many times each player from our game had played this season.
Now that does not look like a team with 10+ players missing, ok 2 of the subs have not played but most have been part of the Wigan team so far this season.

This is exactly how every Wakey fan should feel.
Could you have imagined the gloating and put downs, if we had been beaten by that 'injury ravaged', 'virus decimated' side on Sunday?
Would have had numptys from all over the place bombarding our board.
It does my swede in to hear people taking pity on them.
You know that just because we are Wakey and we are expected to fail, the players have gone from rubbish to heroes in a month.
The players may not be that bad after all!
