We used to talk about building a team around Kirmond but I'm more inclined to build a pack around Washbrook now.
Need to keep him if we can

Why? In the previous three years he's been poor. It's only because others around him this year have been worse that he has appeared to be one of our best players.

In my opinion we need to build our pack around McShane and D. Smith. (If we can keep hold of them) Losing Kirmond and Washbrook will be a loss but we can replace.

For me Washbrook is just one of those players every team needs.
Personally I don't think he's bee poor before at all.

He wasn't a stand off, but we all knew that.

Our pack, if we can keep it together is very good.

Anderson, McShane and Scruton are a great front row
D Smith as a back rower is good to keep especially as he is young.

Kirmond I like but I just feel he is on the downward slope.
Washbrook, just like Henderson and others before him, is not flash but is needed.
I think he IS hard to replace as teams tend to keep that type of player as they don't cost big money and are loyal because of the type of person they are.

If he went of course we would carry on but I'd rather keep him.

I'd rather build our pack around Annakin and Crowther. On that subject did Annakin get injured again on Sunday?

Tom Lineham is going to Wire next season so they are more likely to be looking for a replacement winger.

I do not agree with players transfers before the season end. In my view all exchanges should be agreed at the end of the season and not before.

Couldn't do it at Wests, Hull, Wakefield and IIRC at Doncaster.

I wouldn't say great PT but i agree with everything else.

I am an out and out Anderson fan and I think he would fit in well with any other club in Super League.
Scruton has been good but not always top of his game but he does long minutes for us so he might do better with better support
McShane isn't great but is the best we've had for a long time imho.

So great in terms of Neil Fox great....of course not.
Great in terms of, very good for us, yes I think so.

Anderson is good for us, but I can't see the top SL clubs chasing him.
As for McShane, I disagree that he is one of the best hookers we've had in a long time. Aiton, Obst, Rinaldi IMO were better.

If Hull want another Winger they can gladly have Chris Riley

Riley back to Wire would have been a popular move with Hull and Wakefield fans.

I was a big fan of Aiton but he was too slow with his pass. Massive in defence.
Rinaldi good but past it by the time we had him.
Obst was a scrum half playing hooker. Had plenty of criticism in the role.
I prefer McShane

If that was the case, I think I'd take it.

It would give Anakin his opening and strengthen us in other areas too.
