Looked good pre season. So does everybody else though!

What a great position to be in.
First 17 playing well and no injuries.
Being proactive by sending other players on loan to keep in shape.
Have I started watching a different team, cos this is not the Wakey way!

Loan and dual reg wioks well for SL teams. Anybody else think it makes a mockery of other leagues. I also think that there will be plenty of young lads who have been working hard in the pre season at clubs in the championship and Div one, only to find their place taken in the match day team by some SL player who has no passion for the club etc.

I have to agree it is tough on the lads who been training all pre season only to lose there place to players who wont of even trained with them but from our point it is good we get to keep these players fit and ready for when needed as they will be at some point. also if we where to be in the bottom 4 (hopefully not)and we have been lets say dual reg 4-5 players to fev throughout the season this will surely help us then too as they will then be loosing the service of theses players and playing players who haven't been playing as much.

The problem of SL players shoving their own players out was a problem when dual reg came in.
There was an instance at Swinton, when Warrington sent about 3 players over the Friday before the Sunday game.
On the plus side, if Sammut, Ryan and Simon are all on dual reg at Fev, they play Dulls next Sunday, should be a good hit out for them and to get to know how Dulls play, if we meet them in the middle 8's.

The problem comes when it gets to the Super 8's and the championship clubs start bringing in dual reg's from the top 8 clubs. Prime for abuse.

We will just have to say no to the Championship sides when the time comes won't we?

No problem with this whatsoever.
If we can have all of our squad playing every week, they will be ready to go when needed.
With a 27 man squad and only 17 needed on match day, this is the best way of the whole squad maintaining fitness etc.

We will most likely suffer injuries/ loss of form at some point and the loan deals are an excellent option.

And, as Webster has already commented, Easter is just around the corner and this period always tests your squad.

Interesting that Kirke hasn't been loaned out. It may be that he'll have a bench spot coming up over the next week or two.

Always rumoured, not had much game time, so my guess, yeah.

Would far prefer to have a second team league than dual reg, would make it far easier to develop younger players, maintain squad fitness levels, get players back to match fitness and all while playing to the same system as the first team so lads can slot straight in when required.

Totally agree - but SL clubs were allowed to vote to abolish it as a money saving exercise; hence the ridiculous spectacle of Kylie Leuluai playing for Hunslet last year. It blocks the pathway for young players at those clubs and creates an unfair advantage for those teams that are able to snag superior players on loan/dual reg. It's potty.
