On way out there were some.very bitter cas fans there were quite a few at wakey end looking for trouble as they were a couple of years back. Don't.get why flares went.up before Halls kick stupid. They add colour tho red, white and blue

Presume you mean the disturbance at the bottleneck exit at the Wakefield end after the game. Poor segregation? Poor stewarding? Had it been Wakefield fans at the Cas end it would be more the fault of the away team I would think. Not condoning any of it as I was too far away to see the details.

The flares, fair enough, not very clever and the delay probably knocked the momentum out of Wakefield. Quite colourfull though.

I hope your club ban the idiots for life for the flares you will now get a massive fine I did not see any trouble myself there is no segregation at cas never as been I normally stand around railway end but decided not to because I new there would be trouble. Well done on win I fancied you before the game but after say we through it away but a games for 80 mins not 70 but again well done.

We didn't leave for 5 minutes then it took another 5 to get out of the ground. Didn't see any trouble and the walk back up Wheldon Road was a pretty subdued one. You couldn't tell who'd won or lost to be honest. As for the flare, it's obviously someone who's been watching Italian football's Serie A in the off season.

The smoke bombs were bad and whoever brought them and threw them is an idiot/idiots, however they should have not been able to get them in the ground.

I was literally 5 meters away from the fighting after the game and saw it all as I was waiting to get out. For me there were 2 large Cas fans both wearing Black Hoody's or Jumpers, one who was in his 40's with Black hair and a beard and one who i would say was in his late 20's maybe early 30's who provoked an started it all. There was shall we say a heated discussion between the older of the 2 and a few of our fans which seemed to have been calmed, however then the cas fan decided to push an older looking wakey fan who I would say was in his late 50's maybe early 60's which was the trigger for starting everything. After this a Wakey fan wearing a silver coat squared up to the cas fan, they tussled, the Cas fan threw a punch which missed, the wakey fan retaliated with a punch which floored the cas fan, at this point the younger cas fan and the stewards came in the younger cas fan pushed a wakey fan over who fell down the terracing and rolled into the Crush barrier. The stewards then got hold of both cas fans and a couple of wakey fans but then inexplicably let the younger cas fan go and then it kicked off again and several more punches were thrown by both sides before the stewards regained control.

For me violence is never the answer but it was the Cas who started it but the reaction by some of our fans wasn't good however the stewards response was terrible.

Sounds like you saw it close up, you should send your account of events to both Chairmen

I agree with Avenger send this info in to both clubs as we all clearly want those responsible on both sides punishing and banning

The young lads who were pulled out by stewards at the princess St exit after the red flare were held for a good ten minutes by stewards and security team

I hope they weren't just ejected and the police involved as they need to be made an example of - what they did yesterday was an offence o am sure

I didn't see fighting but suggest this can be avoided by appropriate exits from the ground - a real bottle neck and better stewarding near the exit to nip things of this nature in the bud

The Cas fans around us were fine full of it when looking like they were running away until the last ten but to be honest they were as shocked as we were from that point

Looked like 2 young lads who threw he flares, about 17/18 i'd say. One wearing a dark hoody who looked quite proud of himself for doing so. Couldn't tell whether they were Cas or wakey fans, although it came from the away end, there were quite a few Cas fans mingling

Ban em for life and involve the police; it's hugely irresponsible to throw smoke bombs in a crowd like that.

Very poor. Whatever they were thinking, it wasn't about the best interests of the club.

It would be the right thing to ban those who threw the flares as if the flares had hit someone they would have caused injuries. Just a shame there seemed to be trouble as well with some people being first class tools. Hopefully those too will be dealt with properly by whoever that may be and banned as neither club needs tools following who are like that.

Glad that you thought the colours of the flares thrown were colourful....but have you thought about what can happen when you get hit by a flare or is that of secondary importance as to the pretty colours

You can't defend any idiot for throwing flares. Potentially very dangerous and could cost the club money we can ill afford to pay. It also takes the gloss off a very very good win.

Not defending it but they were not flares, some kind of limp smoke bomb. No way were they especially dangerous - however rules is rules and it's a 5 year ban for me for said throwers.

However considering how volatile this fixture has become is it not about time Cas moved into the modern world and segregated this game as we have. It's sad I know but we have bitten the bullet and I feel you should to. You have a group of idiots who place themselves at the Railway end purely to cause bother and our fools and those of other clubs are happy to oblige.

Smoke bomb or flare doesn't really matter both are dangerous and not allowed in any RL stadia.

Before a fine can be imposed the idiot has to be identified and concrete evidence provided to prove the case regardless of which team they support, the coments indicating a wakefield supporter is pure conjecture at this stage.

Actually it does because one is an explosive device and one isn't and as such isn't as dangerous.

However I did make clear or I thought I did that it's no excuse and a ban for the offenders is in order

Smoke bombs aren't as explosive but they are still dangerous. They burn at high temperatures which can causes burns if you are hit by one, can cause panic when thrown leading to injury and are dangerous to people with asthma and breathing difficulties. Not as destructive as a flare initially maybe but still nasty enough that, as you say, the perpetrators shouldn't be seen in a rugby ground again for an awful long time.

The colour of the smoke and the timing of it gives it away. A Cas fan wouldn't take in smoke bombs in the colours of the rival team in the pure hope that they are able to celebrate a last gasp win and then taint that rival club by association, and ensure that there are no criticisms of Cas's stewarding and gate security. If we hadn't nicked it at the end, what would a Cas fan do with them? Play at being the Red Arrows by running up and down the Poundland car park with the streaming smoke?

As for the fighting, I wasn't there so I'm not commenting on it directly, but this fixture has become increasingly toxic over the years, and certainly during the franchising years, when the relationship between the clubs became like that. With Glover's 'recapture the North Stand" approach and the Cas man's, "oh no, you won't" response, and the constant race to get a stadium to stay in the league. We should be natural allies off the field, because we occupy a similar place in the eyes of the league, financially struggling and in old stadia.

Club statement on the issue. MC has already said he has some evidence and that it was Wakefield fans involved in the smoke bomb incident. The fighting seems to have been more 50-50 but that is no excuse i'm afraid.
