Firstly well done to the Bulls, they have had one hell of a few weeks and yet they out played us tonight in every department of the game. Only Fox and Ali gave them pause for thought, other than that every Bradford player was better than ours. I thought Gale was first class tonight and was head and shoulders above our halfs. Diskin, Kearney and Addy stuck to the plan and managed the game well. Add into that that Gaskill was off from minute one.
So we were well beaten, error ridden and once again our players showed just how thick they are, they simply do not understand the basic simple concept of field position.
As well as the players not been very good tonight I thought our coaching staff were very poor.
- McShane never was, never is and never will be a 80 min hooker, we ask him to do Sunday then Thursday 80 mins. Wildie should have been in the 17 tonight. Mcshane was good but knackered after 55 mins.
- Ryan is not a centre.
- Felt we looked rudderless and just needed to play a simple game plan, no mistake rugby.
- The treatment of Walshaw was a disgrace tonight, bringing him on so late in the game ( to his credit he tackled very well ) he drops the ball and gets taken off after five minutes. The game was lost and now that lads confidence will be shattered. It seems our home grown young players just can`t catch a break.

Agree about Walshaw. Yes he made two errors but to be dragged off when others stayed on after mucking up was poor from Agar. I assumed he picked up an injury. I have a sneaking suspicion he'll be the only one to miss out next week. Lyne is Teflon coated. Two of hos errors led to two Bradford tries. The lad is gutless.

Agar has consistently picked youngsters and under utilised them on the bench. The lads were knackered tonight partly due to all the tackling they'd done and he didn't bring Walshaw on until the 66th minute only to sub him.

It's not the first time, infact this ridiculous policy happens every other game. The guy was brought in to develop our promising youngsters. Instead he knocks every bit of confidence out of them rather than believing in them and encouraging.

My thoughts from tonight?

After sitting through one of the worst games of Rugby I've ever seen, I shall be contacting Sky in the morning demanding a small refund on this months subscription.

What a pile of crap. Both abysmal sides looked relegation bound to me.

Lyne did okay for me 1 mistake, Mathers was okay but too cocky turning back on ruck and then they attack it and score. Smith was the best player for us. Walshaw played centre Sunday to go on at prop to get dominated and took off.

We were utter rubbish, only Ali and to some degree Collis came put with any credit. Yes we haven't played together much but in that case then keep it simple instead of trying the miracle moves every time. Headless chickens comes to mind. Smith was solid up front bit on the flip side Tautai was awful, Fox was better but on the other side Lyne was garbage. The lad looks terrified of contact, will not back himself and is an accident waiting to happen. He must have some dodgy pictures of Agar.

I also have to question Agars use of Walshaw. Nothing for 65 mins, 10 minutes then hooked. What the hell is that going to do for the lad? It can only affect his confidence, well done coach. And i have to ask why did we decide not to have a field training session yesterday, instead pouring over more video? Surely even a light/no contact session would have been better to try and get some cohesion. We got what we deserved out of that game and we need to sort it quick otherwise we will give ourselves too much to do.

Until we sort out our discipline we will always be on the backfoot. The penalty count must have been 2 to 1 against us tonight. So if it was a 10 - 5 count , thats an extra 30 tackles we give them through silly errors. We are tackling ourselves into the ground. It needs sorting as soon as possible.

Wildie, Briscoe, Trout and Moore (if fit)have played in the pre season games and could have brought some energy to the team which appeared to be missing playing the same 17. What is clear is that Ryan is not a direct replacement for Marisno as he can't play centre where Frankie could.
Discipline in the team is very poor also.

Ryan isn't a centre and never will be. Just goes to show how much we need another centre.

All round not good , cats bar complete shambles, on the field will improve i hope, crowed want come back if the club does not get things right on the field and off it. we have to be honest looking at the first home game desaster all round, sorry but true

My thoughts, Eakey are significantly better with Anderson and Smith at Prop.

Sammut was abysmal.

Basic skills seem an issue.

Lynne had a cracking game apart from "that" moment.

Reffing standard remains awful.

Wakefield should have comfortably win the game but poor play and coaching ultimately cost us.

I agree with you again, a fullback that turns his back on the ruck when close to his line... He is average and very inconsistent.

think your wrong there. he made one error all match which I no cost you but apart from that, was really workman like bringing the ball out your end and ran very strongly even saved a try when maters dropped it under your sticks he's a young lad and confidence is everything right now get off his back and support him he will come good

TBH if your execution will get better if you put your half to hooker play sammutt at half and spell Macshane you will improve no end Hicks was a disgrace 1st half as well the ball steel penalty was a killer it was no way a penalty and they scored off it, its very early days and Rome was not built in a day you have a lot of new players coming together good luck the rest of the season

My thoughts are, why the hell did I get up at 3-45am to watch? Will I ever learn? Mind you, it was back to bed after Lynn's schoolboy error by which time, it was only ever going to be a Bulls victory. Yet another shocking performance to add to a long list.

Far too much doom and gloom round here after one game imo. Yes we were poor and the lads made some pretty awful mistakes today but in reality but for a couple of dubious video ref calls and less than an inch of grass on the short grounding, we could have easily pinched that game and got a result.

We were awful. I cannot remember the last time I saw so many handling errors, and that includes watching junior rugby for many years; at least the kids can usually catch and do normally hang onto the ball in possession.

Probably the worst Wakefield performance I have seen since the heady days of Tony Smith. How the Bulls didnt stuff us completely is probably evidence of how poor they are too but thank goodness we werent playing the Rhino's, Wigan or even Cas!
