Spoke to Danny Kirmond for a good 15 minutes today at Streethouse Cricket Club where he confirmed he wont be going anywhere and is staying on and looking forward to the future WITH the Wakefield Wildcats

If there is anyone who deserves to be Man Of Steel, it is DK. He has truly led from the front and played half the season with multiple injuries - Hull away showed exactly why he should be MOS. Im glad he is keen to stay with WTW.

I've known Danny personally for a good 5 years now and this is the 1st time i have seen him for a good couple of month. Nothing but honest words from DK. However, on the England front, he hasn't been approached by Steve McBanana as of yet and he doesn't expect to either, although he feels he deserves his chance.

Some positive news to keep us going at this difficult time. Well done DK a true leader.

Ultimately will it be up to Kirmond, regardless of whether he's happy here or not?

This used to wind me up when I played. People 'in the know' knew more about my career than I did. I remember going to a match with a current super league player a couple years back and it was apparently nailed on that, that player was moving to the home team. He wasn't but who was he to argue with the one's 'in the know'

The non inclusion to the England set up could be a blessing in disguise.
Let Danny have a good rest off season to get rid of all the niggles.
Hopefully Ali, Sykes, L.Smith, Mathers and Danny, also to a certain extent Annakin can work with the juniors in the off season to prepare for what's to come.

It's only a week after the season has ended, i watched the playoff games, but it's not like watching your own team. I'm missing it already. Got my season ticket when they were first on offer, not regretting it one little bit!!

I will tell you however that the version I heard was that Tim was looking for a move (payrise!) and made that known.

Whether Kirmond signs for us or not, it clearly wont be his choice in the matter. Sounds like he loves it at Wakefield but if your chairman believes a big transfer fee would benefit the club more than his presence in the team next season, I would imagine he will do his bit and agree to a move.

I hope what's happening at Salford gives you some form of encouragement that there can be light at the end of the tunnel. We lost the likes of Myler, Ratchford, Holdsworth, M.Smith and Moon but look where we are now, it can and hopefully will happen to you too.

I'd rather we didn't become a retirement home for past their best players looking for a final payday (oops sorry, I mean fulfilling their lifetime dreams of playing for Salford).

Would like to think it would take an obscene amount of money for the chairman to even consider letting Danny Kirmond go, whether it be to Salford or anyone else.
Salford got a decent wedge for Myler, didn't Ratchford leave at the end of his contract
As for the other three, you got transfer fees for them, shouldn't you be showing gratitude to their clubs, like we are expected to do to yours?
Going to be interesting to see the attendances for your home and away fixtures against Hudds.
