| Lets be serious here who else would we get if he went.
I think we've still got more to see from him, I guess hes just building his team and then we could see what we can do - on the little resources we have.

| Says it in one of the papers this morning. Can't remember which one. Was going to post it myself.
I'm happy with it for the following reasons:
1) I think he is doing ok job with the team he has. Many individuals have shown improvemnt under him, though some have dropped off at end of season
2) I think he is building a good team and is progressing. Even though some see it game to game and only points get prizes, we are competing at a higher level than we have before but slipped on some lower team points we shouldhave got.
3) There is no one out there I thinkw ould be better
4) The team always say they play for him and like him to a man, and if he isn't causing problems, the stability is a great asset to the team

| Not particularly happy with a 2 year renewal but there is really little to chose from with regards to alternatives. They all to a certain extent would be gambles.
Poching could be an option. He's been around successful teams during his coaching career. He'll surely have picked up one or two good habits.

Poaching is often talked about but he has never been a head coach and we will be taking a step back while he learns with us.
Either bring him in as assistant or wait until wheels come off. Wouldn't bring him in now.

To be honest I dont think Agar is suited to be a head coach so having someone who has never been one shouldn't be too massive a step bckwards. They've all got to start somehere. I don't believe Wane had been a head coach before he got the Wigan job.

| Not particularly convinced as lose the next two games which looks highly likely and its highly possible we will sit in 12th position to finish which is pretty dire tbh.
Now if others are investing heavily for next year like Salford and cas I really fear for us next season. With the same squad minus a few bodies and plus Tuson only signed Agar has alot to do next year.

| I haven't seen any official confirmation, so this is probably a bit premature.
If it's true though, I'm content; last year's freakish outcome has made things difficult for him, but I think we're seeing steady progress on and off the field. If he has another 2 seasons with some money (?) and a total lack of interference in the playing roster by other parties, then I think we'll do ok.
I'm excited to see some of the young scholarship players come through the ranks, so he perhaps has to revisit his youth policy, to ensure that some of these lads see a first team shirt.

| After how he went at Hull and then the last 2 seasons with us I would say no thanks. He talks a good game and the players like him but for me hes more of an assistant than head coach. For a head coach to say we went ok yesterday says to me he watched a different game to the rest of us.

And neither was Michael Mcguire before him. Or Paul Anderson at table topping Huddersfield. In fact of the 9 clubs above us in superleague 6 have coaches in their first job so it shouldn't be a barrier if the candidate has the right credentials.
That said right now Agar is doing an acceptable job with an average superleague squad. But doesn't he have another year to run on his deal anyway? To be honest i'm pretty ambivalent either way, there are pro's and con's to him both staying and going. Maybe better the devil you know for now. Wasn't there a rumour a few weeks ago that Webster was returning to Oz at the end of the year and Sean Long was replacing him as assistant?

Got to agree with you, Trojan
A 12th place finish is not really good enough (especially after making the 8 last season) AND with a settled squad, taking away the excuses from the first half of last season about "not having gelled" etc.

| With the third year of his contract to go I would maybe have waited until part way through next season to negotiate/consider any extension. Whilst we had a good run last season that set the standard with pretty much the same squad.
Compared to last season we have under performed and I think we will finish in 12th spot. I hope to be proven wrong. I believe on paper we are a better team than the league table suggests. Could do better.
We maybe building for the future yet I have less optimism for next season than a few months ago. Agar needs to prove that he can lift the players/discipline them to get results. We've lost too many winnable games this year IMVHO.

| Not happy if it's true. Some players / teams just need a new man at the helm in order to kick on and I reckon that's what we need. Cas, Warrington, KR, Hudds, both saints and Wigan in the past have changed coaches and seem to go up a level. No reflection on Agar, just how it is, new broom, new ideas, fresh motivation.

| I think it just shows the team as a whole that he is boss for the next couple of years so the structures are important to follow.
Nathan Brown was always just on the edge of in or out and that always seemed to upset Huddersfield. They have benefitted from some stability

| I'd be happy with that, I'm pro-Agar at the moment.
The way I see it, we didn't earn 8th last year, we were gifted it via Bradford's point deduction so shouldn't feel over proud with that achievement. This year, yes some decisions were made that may not have been what we personally would have done but we don't know the ins and outs and what happens behind the scenes, despite most people on here acting like they do! I think we have looked more creative this year and showed potential in many games, I think we only missed out on the 8 because of the same stupid player errors which cost us many points each game, I'd hold the players more responsible for the lost games than Agar!

That's hardly building a team though is it. If he was good enough to get him on board, give him a fair crack and let him have some stability for his future as well.

| Also, I'd put more value in the criticism of Agar, if it wasn't exactly the same criticism that people (possibly the same ones) gave Kear.
Picking people they don't like, not just throwing the kids in, playing a bench that they don't like.......all said about Kear as well.

At the moment we are 7 points adrift of 8th spot and that is likely to be closer to 10 by the end of the season.
However you wish to measure that "achievement", it's very poor.
I know that the margins between 8th and 12 and that big but we have had an extremely poor third quarter of the season. If Mr Agar is not culpable, then who ???
