The lord must have been shining on us that day - praise the lord he didn't come to us. However I do feel he was sacked unfairly and have seen far worse photographs of indecent players on twitter and nothing being said or done.
The RFL kept this quiet too, as we don't spend the full salary cap (allegedly) we probably only have 1 - 4 players near that amount.

Stinks if you ask me. Huddersfield forced to admit tapping players up, revealing what appears to be complicity by the RFL in keeping it quiet and then to top it all manufacturing the sacking of a loyal employee who was fully committed to them (at least until he got his testimonial dosh

) so that they could pay him!

Cue a big fine from the RFL (didn't we get fined when we tried to entice Jason Robinson to the club?), loss of trust from the rest of the league (other teams abided by the 'keep off' agreement) and hopefully an apology from the Giants.

I can guarantee some are and that's why we can't pay our bills and are already 1.5 million in debt in two years. Despite the guff talked about our squad being cheap by both Glover and some on here IMO it's relatively expensive - I reckon Poore alone is on a fair bit more than that.

It seems to be common knowledge that players get tapped up all the time - we were adamant that Solo was tapped up, and took our case to the RFL; to no avail, as it turned out - so you could probably count yourselves unlucky on that score. That said, it's still a nasty practice.

I'll keep my powder dry until the case has been decided, but the way it's been reported in your local press, the evidence seems to stack up very much against the defendant, circumstantial though a lot of it appears to be, from the articles linked above.

Rank amateurism by whichever Giants official was charged with overseeing this debacle; it's obvious that they tried to get shot of Mason by manufacturing a case against him and fudging the Kopczak issue. I deal with employment matters on a daily basis and I can say with certainty, this wouldn't have happened on my watch - or that of any other even semi competent senior manager.

The Giants deserve everything they get on this one I'm afraid - Mason has, without doubt, been the victim of unfair dismissal; interesting to see Fielden rubbishing him in court by the way - I'd like to see them up against each other at the weekend!

I can see another smack but from a different mason this time

He effectively boosted Masons payout by saying Mason wouldn't earn as much at another club as he would have if he had stayed at Huddersfield. He also stated that Mason hadn't been setting SL alight this year - apparently without any hint of irony!

That's how I would read it too. A handshake and a pint after the game would be more appropriate than a smack, under the circumstances.

I think that the single watt that burns in Fieldens noggin thought that by saying this he would reduce the pay-out!
