OK campers its only a few weeks away from the start of the new season, and things have improved hugely for us Wakey fans, both on and off the field IMO!

A little bit of unfinished business from last year first. I am still sat on £420 which was/is going to Richard Moore, following the illness of his son.
I have tried numerous methods of contacting RM, inc emails, facebook and passing on my details to the good people at Leeds Rhinos, and i have received no reply.
If anyone can contact him directly or through a third party could they please do so and PM me accordingly.
If this fails, my suggestion is that the money should go to squadbuilder, all other suggestions can be discussed until we happen upon an agreed one.

My work situation remains unchanged and i am more than happy to carry on running the Lge for 2102, if anyone else wishes to volunteer, equally i am happy to let someone else have a go.

A new sponsor, if anyone is interested in sponsoring the Lge for 2012, please PM me for details, its far from expensive and all the money raised goes to a good cause.

A new cause, if anyone has any suggestions for what purpose we should raise the funds, please suggest them here, i dont have one yet.

A donation of £5 minimum will once again be asked for competitors this year, this can be paid via Paypal (although we lose a % of the money) by cheque or cash to my address (PM for any details) or down at good old BV in person.
As we have a few experts on the board (inc those from other clubs, its open to all!!) i look forward to taking plenty of £££ this year.

It would be great to build on last years competition which was IMO great fun to be involved in, although i showed up many gaps in my punditry skills, and went right down to the wire (pun intended!!!) with LG83 emerging as a worthy winner.

So heres looking forward to 2012, for us kicking off at newly promoted Widnes Vikings, and good luck to all competitors.

Does squadbuilder still exist? Genuine question - I thought it had been abandonned for the Club 1873 scheme.

If you're looking for a charity to give the donation to, could I suggest Wakefield Hospice. They seem to have been well down on sponsorship for the last Sandal Castle 10k, and it's a very worthy local cause.

SB does still exist; it has the same 3 people on the committee as it did when it started and funds are used towards assisting the club with the signing and retention of young players.

Club 1873 is there to fund the whole of the Junior set-up - i.e. money goes to the coaches, education and all that goes with a modern Academy system. SB money is generally used in the more specific areas of helping to cover the costs of a players wages and expenses (travel etc).

This isn't a pitch for this money, but I thought I would let you know that SB is still in there!

now I know you have mentioned earlier in the thread if anyone had an idea of where we could donate the money from the predictions league, it had me thinking instead of the going to the squad builder could it not go to one of our own little supporters that has endured a difficult start to life as a Trin fan
