Like the subject says, I have heard a whisper that we have got Oakwell for next season as the new ground has'nt been sorted yet. Can anyone conferm this ?

all i know is that oakwell is a strong possibilty and that there is a shareholders meeting on jan 4 to disscus it?

Bullet 4 A Mullet is spot on. Oakwell is definitely a possibility, but it won't be confirmed until after the meeting.

You may be making presumptions regarding the meeting content.

If we are going to Oakwell it needs to be for as short a time as possible as I can't see that many people watching 'home' games in a different town for long.

How confident are we now newmarket will get passed? Oakwell or fetherstone only option for me.Sad state of affairs. Our only hope if newmarket gets passed in 4 months. Hope the goverment will see our plight and shorten the decision. Only 2 projects have gone to a public enquiry so surely there not knee deep in public enquirys. Just making the point that the Government Office isn't likely to be just sitting on two public inquiries from this year, there are ones that are still ongoing probably prior to that, which is correct. I've not commented on Wakefield, Newmarket or the stadium on here at all for a long time. Besides, my sentence structure is poor just so you can come and pick up on it.

I hate to so it but that is a good point, i have no idea how many are currently in progress but i hope they can fasttrack newmarket.

IMO the PI will end in favour of the development and will probably be finished in time for construction to be based on opening at the start of the 2013 season.

As for 2012 I think we'll almost be at Oakwell for the full season and that the details of that move will be finalised some time this month. Rather than just having a Plan B I heard at Headingley that there was also a Plan C as an alternative to Oakwell.

Whatever happens we'll have a franchise application that demonstrates that we'll be playing in a stadium that more than satifies the SL criteria for the full 3 years.

I think we should go to Barnsley and stay there, Wakefield council are the most shocking council I have come across. I live in Kirklees and the sporting facilities are second to none.

While I'll give you credit for reading a pun into my comment, the real Plan C doesn't see us moving to Cas. Sharing with the Tigers is less likely to happen than me playing in the Grand Final this year!!!

At the current moment we need get Newmarket out of our head. It's not going to be ready for 2012 and unlikely for 2013. We need to fully focus on delivering a viable business plan for Barnsley. I really think we could unearth some real potential in a move to Barnsley, it's just a case of whether our BOD have the ambition and drive to deliver ( I'm sceptical! )

Even though I thought I would never say this but lets take a leaf out of Crusaders book as an example. A move to a new town managed to attract in the region of 3K new fans. I'm pretty sure a move to Barnsley could be just as successful. Any new fans would more than make up for the loss of any fans that would not travel from Wakey. It would be a safe bet to say that the away support would be a lot stronger in a new ground with modern facilities.
