I know I'm bias, but when looking at the presentations from each of the countries, how has Russia ended up with it, I know they had the fact that there had not been a World Cup in Eastern Europe, but still, with the countries kleptocracy, mafia, state funds linked to crime it's hard to understand, Or has there been some serious back handers by certain billionaires.

The single biggest single sporting event in the world would have been a huge fillip to the country and to many millions of people who love the game.

I'm not a great soccer fan, but I love the razz of the World Cup - as I do with most big sporting occassions (excluding owt to do with Ragger).

A great shame and a lot of head-scratching - particularly with the national institution, the BBC, who IMO put the final nail in the coffin on Monday night. If England hadn't been bidding, the BBC and the other press wouldn't have given a chuff about any corruption and they have cost us dearly - the dimwits!

Seriously though there is enough going on in England over the next decade to get excited over without the football world cup. I just think it will give other sports a bit of exposure where they would've had none whatsoever in 2018.

Not a fan of it at all. Can't do with all the carry on surrounding England in international tournaments as it is let alone us hosting one Euro 96 was bad enough. Football in general is becoming duller and duller and international football is the dullest of the dull.

On a wider note - the 2022 WC will go Qatar - a country only granted independence from the UK in 1971 and with a population of less than 1.7m people. How many people does this serve - or does the fact both countries have been granted WC's when we know both countries are full of vastly wealthy individuals who enjoy the benefits of corrupt societies, show where we struggle to compete!

On sky sports news they showed Roman Abromich and they said he was a big part of the russian bid, aye I bet he was £££££££££££££££££££££££££££..... The voting for this event was worse than the eurovision song contest...

Tripe, absolute tripe. Jennings has been investigating FIFA for 10 years and why the chuff should he not use the time most likely to give his investigations maximum exposure. It is not for him to worry about a world cup bid, exactly the opposite in this case. So what should he have done? kept quiet in complete contradiction to everything he/they have been doing? They were 100% right in their timing imo irrespective of just how explosive the new information was/wasn't - it's a case of keep banging away with the message.

So how has this helped us - you know, the country where all this has arisen? It hasn't, but it got a few extra papers sold and lot of people talking about the Panorama programme. It might help lead to something long term, but there is no doubt that the timing was a spear through the heart of the England bid.

The one that got me was Quatar getting the 2022 world cup. How can the players play in 50 degrees centigrade heat which is what it will be when they play the world cup there in 2022.

How could FIFA not considder this, This seems the more bent of the 2 decisions.
