This season, even though I'm still in full time education, my season ticket will go up this year to a student ticket, meaning it will cost me £95 now and that's without away games. Ontop of this i will need a new shirt and transport to the games, which will cost extra!, How do the club expect a college student to pay these sort of prices?
The club are wanting to increase the attendances, and in my opinion this is not the way to go about it as quite a lot of the fans, are students.
Finally, and this years grand final, the RFL are classing students, as concessions therefore it is affordable, so why can't our club do this?
Surely, to improve crowds, we should be lowering prices of season tickets rather than raising them?

It's the equivalent of £6.80 a match. In student terms thats about three pints. Do you really find that unreasonable?

Yes i do saying we only get the home tickets.
My point is, how do they expect college students to pay for it, but they don't expect 16 and unders to pay for it

by saying this you are presuming young fans are just wanting to drink, when some of us actually just wana go watch the match and support the team.
Whether students or not we care about the club, but were not mugs and we can tell when were being ripped off.
95 pounds for just home matches, when even though were students we may not have an income of our own, is stupid.
The club is meant to bring in the young and keep them, not fob them off as soon as they can.

Under 16's in the majority cant get part time jobs and don't receive ema.

College Students do in the main receive ema and you should be working a part time job it'll help you when looking for jobs later in life.

I've paid these prices and i've paid for away tickets too; it is doable and all students throughout the country pay the same prices for rugby tickets.

Student season tickets have never had away games included. When I got them - back in 2000-2003 - I kept money back for away games, got lifts with friends, didn't buy a shirt as I didn't 'need' one (got them as Christmas/Birthday presents instead), and yeah, had a job throughout College and Uni so I could spend it on things I enjoyed (like going to games.....)

and for your information, the college i attend reccomends 5 hours extra outside college per subject. this takes another load of time out of the week.

imo all kids and those in education should get in for nothing or a quid and fill the ground.

Tend to agree, unfortunately we don't have enough adult paying fans to offset revenue lost with such a policy.

id pay a fiver a week on the gate. i know this works out at £65 pounds for a season ticket, and i know i was complaining about 95, but a fiver a week is easy, people would pay this, it would get crowds in.

I agree, just for the fact that I have been looking for a job for I don't know how long now and and still cant afford to pay for necessities like clothes never mind spend the best part of £100 on a season ticket just for home games. I'll admit that I do like to go to as many away games as possible, but for the season coming I can see a few students like myself struggling to pay for the season ticket and the away tickets without sponging off parents that can barely afford it in the first place.

So, after readin posts on other threads, its apparent that Wakefield College are funding some part for the Newmarket project?
So if Wakefield College can fund for our ground, why can't the Wakefield Trinity club sort out some kind of offer for Wakefield Trinity supporting students?

They are doing, by offering a season ticket which estates to £6.80 a match. Almost half the price of an adult ticket.

For a 16 year old, it would cost £7.30 a game for 13 home games.
For a 15 year old, it would cost 77p a game for 26 games.
Yet they are both still in full time education??????

To see if the club is being short-sighted, it has to be put into the context of the going rates. The other clubs are charging the following for students next year:
Bulls - £100
Cas - £108
Hudds - £105
Leeds - £2 off (bronze membership)
Saints - £118
Wire - £121.

The others weren't available (I went through the links from the Super League site, and the Salford link on the badge at the top took me to the Cincinnatti Reds site)

So we seem to be the cheapest for students in Super League at the moment. Put posters up in the colleges and tell all your friends. At last we are doing something to attract young people!

Tbh, I don't expect to be paying the same prices as Huddersfield, Leeds, Saints and Warrington for my season ticket, not when the rugby we have been seeing recently doesn't deserve that sort of price, but that is only my opinion.
