| Perhaps that explains the dross we witnessed on the field yesterday?
Last time we put in a performance like that, the Brough/Tronc situation was bubbling under in the dressing room.

| with 12 candidates I don't think we should be worried yet.
Saying that, losing Kear would be bad in my opinion
and if we did lose him, I'd promote from within and use Beans anyway.
To go looking when we are stable as a club but just losing a few games is just naive

| Would be shocking if we lost Kear. If Harrison is such a good coach, why is he at Batley, surly he would still be at Salford!

| Wouldn't blame him if he took the option up. Working within tight constraints and the apparent turn of supporters against him gathering pace.
I do fear what will happen to the club if he departs. Many who want rid of him may see value he brings to the club if/when he's no longer here.
Would the club turn to the NRL for a new coach or would they promote from within?
Paul Anderson could be an option if he fails to get the Huddersfield job. He seemed to guide the Giants well last season.

| Under Kear we will never be that side fighting to avoid the wooden spoon but he's given us a taster of the play-offs and a CC semi final so this slump has left a bitter taste in the mouth. And why not as some of the most passionate RL supporters we should demand a bit of quality.

| Yep Karl Harrison has had a really succesful coaching career so i can see the logic......not
Kear's the best coach we've had at the club in my time as a spectator which goes back 25 years or so...

Agreed - I can't see us attracting an established Oz coach, but maybe an assistant somewhere who needs to develop, much like we do?
For me, if Kear is to go, I think we should grasp the nettle and go for a full blown change of culture at the club.
Having said that - all quiet on the stadium front atm; until we get that sorted, the Karl Harrisons of this world are probably all we can aspire to.

I can actually believe that. Especially knowing Steve Simms from the past.

| if he goes please lets not just promote beans
we need a coach who can organise a defensive line, and a few planned moves would be nice
new people coming in with new ideas
there is only so much one out rugby we can stand

| If we promoted Beans i feel the same could hapen that happened when we promoted Tony Smith to replace Shane Mcnally and we deffinatly don't want that.
If Kear does leave and i personally don't want him to, then i would like to see a complete change with us getting a coach who will come in and improve the defence much like Nathan Brown did at the Giants.

| I'd go if I were him. It's probably the only chance he'd get to coach outside the UK at a decent level, and there are worse places to live than South-West France. That said, I think his stay over there might be a short one. I'm not sure the Kear philosophy of rugby and the French philosophy of rugby would co-exist happily. Does he know what the French for "it's like watching paint dry" is?
