| completely out of our pay scale. would be stupid to let brough go and then stump up the £350,000 to £400,000 per year that finch would be wanting.
we need to keep bringing through the kids. until the club grows this will always be the case i am afraid.

| I'm not advocating Finch. However, without [ia[/i scrum-half, our pack, which is a relative strength of the team, is being utterly wasted.
I wouldn't blame any of the forwards if their effort was to drop over the rest of the season and they were to want out; they must be getting increasingly frustrated at working their nads off in a team that lacks direction.
As for letting Brough go, I can only assume any financial gains we made out of that deal are fast being eroded by the drop in gates that opting not to watch the turgid offerings are causing.
Won't happen IMO, they are enjoying taking the team forward and although frustrated like the rest they won't let it slip.
Just look at the reaction of King and Korki when the took us to the line before PJ scored, i would not worry about that part of our game.
Agree with the rest though we must be near minus on the Brough deal by now.

Its not were we want to be granted.
[uTax bill[/u
Loss of or reduced income from sponsorship.
Lower gates
= less cash
Thats just my guess by the way, but i think thats the hole the moneys its fallen into, a hole that need to be filled otherwise we would not have a club.
This as been done to death and dug up again a few times.

| The tax bill is a bit of a cop out we all have to pay tax, sponsorship I understand to be a bit of a struggle, perhaps it's the economy, perhaps there's another reason people don't want to put money in the club???
As for falling gates, I put that down almost entirely down to the stewardship of the club, as long as spectators are treat like dirt it will go on!!
A lot of people are finding better things to do on match days, and before anyone starts with the "think of the club" angle, no other business would remain in business treating it's shareholders & customers like we are treat.
I await the usual response from the usual crowd.

Well I am not sure if I qualify for a tag as one of the usual crowd, but I will respond with simply this, please explain to me why you think that the fans are being treat like dirt because I certainly dont think that I'm being treated like that. The only cause for complaint I could have is the lack of imformation not forthcoming from inside the club, frustrating yes it is but I will keep my dummy firmly in my gob for the time being thanks.

I must have missed the hoards packing out Belle Vue last year in the clubs most successful regular season. Lets be honest crowds were crap last year when the stuff on field was good. Thats one of the reasons why the club ended up with the big tax bill. The crowds were below what was expected and to be honest what the team deserved. If the stay away fans had turned up then perhaps the club would not have had to sell Atkins and had more money to offer to Brough.

| regarding poor attendances last season, it does not matter how well the team does if no-one around the city knows about it.
the marketing budget as i understand runs to those triangular trailer boards, which are generally not even up to date. its appalling.
the club is still run in the same vein it always has been and has not moved on to the professional level of other clubs.
even given the current form the team on the field continually out performs the team off the field

| Said on numerous occassions on here about promoting matches and the poor advertising trailers...at the moment the one on Lofthouse hill is showing us playing Salford in March....i rest my case.
As for attendances the club is caught between devil and deep blue sea...i think £18-20 is too much to watch Trinity butif they lower the prices would the hopefully increased attendances cover what they would have got if they had charged full price. If as we are at the moment losing people will say..im not paying £20 to watch them.

Sorry mate,that just doesnt figure.
You are suggesting that last seasons poor attendances contributed to the club having a large unpaid tax bill.
But i dont see how the unpaid taxes could have come from the same season.I would presume it was taxes that were due from year end April 09

Looking back i worded that incorrectly. The tax bill was what it was. But with the poor attendances the club may have used the cash earmarked for HMRC to keep the cash flow going. Perhaps money from the expected increase in attendances could've been used to pay off the bill. Obviously this wasn't forthcoming so the club found themselves in a pickle so had to agree a payment plan with HMRC. No doubt this will have been subsidised by the sale of Atkins.
We are not a well supported club even when things are going well. I think the club are operating on a knife edge financially so a little lost income here or there badly affects Trinity.

| The facts in my mind are this, 1) the club has left the playing side now Ill equiped to compete, players are looking frustrated as are supporters, this is a mistake caused by the club in failing to secure adequate replacements, we after all were in the driving seat in regards to releasing both brough and tronc.
2) as a result the club has now saved massively in proportion to it's salary cap spend in wages of 3 key players, the club has failed in any attempt to get the supporters on side by giving it's reasons and any plans for this spend should there be any.
3) with previous dissatisfaction among supporters caused by the sale of other players and up and coming youngsters, the club has doubled the problem by simply failing to understand that a little bit of good pr within the support, would have made the situation, perhaps, more stomachable. A failure by the club to Market itself properly.
I here some say, we are in a much better position than we were 3/4 years ago, and arguably at the start of the season we may have been fractionaly ahead, but the margin for a club like this is tiny, but things shift very quickly, and who on here would not be sweating if we still had promotion and relegation?
To me it's very simple, the club to move forward has to get things right, more or less all of the time, and not always big things.
Communication is key in all business, with staff and customers a like, I think we fail almost always here.
The club is fighting for a slice of it's customers leisure/family time, money is tight and choice is plentiful, but it takes it's customers for granted, offering little in the way of value for money, whilste reducing the quality of the product.
Take Kear out of the equation, ok he may not be getting everything right at the moment but I believe he is head and shouldes above anyone else at this club in proffesionalism, the boardroom is full of feckless wonders, running the business like a second rate corner shop, jobs for the family without any of them having any pedigree whatsoever.
