If the article in this mornings LExp is to be believed, broughy is getting a bit frustrated at not getting the deal he wants.
This asks two questions;

1) are we trying to get him on the cheap, if so someone needs to get a grip, and give him what he wants, if we can afford it.
2) is he being greedy, he knows we can't afford what he wants and is just stringing it along, whilste his agent is privately touting him to all and sundry.

I'm sure JK wants him, and I believe we can only go so far, we aren't the richest club in SL.

It's times like this when a bit of clarification is in order.

It is taking a long time and you do wonder.

Would liek to see this resolved before the season starts one way or another and would hate to see him go on the cheap later because we either did not sign him up or kept negotiating until has value dropped

What clarification are you wanting? A statement from Trinity saying they’re trying to get their most influential player on the cheap, or a statement from the Brough camp saying that he is been a greedy git and is wanting more then the club can afford while his agent touts him around to the highest bidder.

Im in the whatever it takes camp, hes so crucial to our play see play off match for example, we had no clue without him, get him on a 3yr contract and build the side around him. Hes the type of player you can do that with, hes the only one in our squad whom you could do it with, he's still young enough hes british and is a top class kicker, hard to find these days and this side of the game is getting more and more important.

How many good scrum halfs is there left, longs not there anymore, briers (imp to wire side) and plently of similar players in this posistion are coming to end of their career or just starting.

Get him signed, or there will be plently more clubs more than willing to meet his demands.

I have heard some little bits about this affair and it reminds me a little of the goings on when we tried to keep Gareth Ellis.
The club have an extremley good offer on the table and can only go so far.

I am sure if DB wanted to stay at Wakey and his heart was at the club, what is on offer to him is extremely generous.

No - that's the point the Khlav was making - I think it best not to get drawn into a public debate. The discussions will end how they end - and then we will get to know.

we shud do all we can 2 keep him at the club so cain southernwood matty wildie and tom henderson can learn off the man as they r not ready 2 step up 2 super league as of yet. i believe in 18 months to 2 years one of these talented youngsters wil b ready 2 make the step up. if db leaves we wil not get a gud enuff replacement who has an all round game as db has. for the sake of an extra few quid we shud make the effort.

I thought DB owed JK a great deal in the sense that if it wasnt for JK the likeleyhood of Dannyboy being a top SL player would have been remote. Shame really but thats how it goes, some people have selective memories. Before everyone starts jumping up and down saying "its a short career and players need to get what they can" etc etc - my sense of the situation is that DB would be on the best money he has ever earned in his career and the new deal improves what is already a very good financial position.

I am just getting tired of the Brough situation, as for Southernwood - well it sort of beggars belief talking about bigger clubs wanting him when he hasnt even played at SL level. Can somebody have a little word with him and tell the bigtime charlie a few home truths.

DB will sign a contract with us. I was told he was over the moon with the 2 offers only to turn them down so it seems. We NEED to pull our finger out on this one and pay what we have to. DB is our present and foreseeable future, What happened to the supporters fund, could we not top it up. i will chip in a tenner a month on top on top of everything else to keep top class players at my club.
Having said that i don't have kids so i can understand the situation being different for others.
