after whatching that shambles of a game last night how can the england coach have not picked danny brough and matt blymire instead of syskes and myler any thoughts

they wont play in the big games will they, mylers a young kid, sykes is poor. as for blaymire, lack of pace imo for top level and brough can he create at the top level, he can certainly kick a ball.

Sykes had a shocker but there again he hasn't played fullback on a regular basis for a long time. Strange pick in my opinion.

Myler will play in my opinion which is quite worrying. Hopefully he will improve as his tactical kicking yesterday was woeful. I think alot will depend as ever on how our forwards do. If they do not win the battle up front it could be a long day against the Kiwis ann Aussies

I've argued vehemently that Brough should be the scrum half, he's the stand out candidate IMO.

T Smith should be held to account if Myler, Eatmond or Tomkins find themselves out of their depth against Aus & NZ.

The seasoned half back in the whole squad is McGuire, I can see Sinfield being forced into the team like a square peg in a round hole.
T Smth loves him even though he's failed at international level on numerous occasions.

If Sykes gets anywhere near the starting line up for the 4Ns we are in desperate trouble.

As much as I like him ...Blaymire is never an international fullback in this world. Comparing him against Billy Slater is likening a pro against a good amateur player.

Solid reliable yes but thats about it...says alot about the quality in our game when we can even think that he is of such standard.

I get what you are saying, but to be fair I think the point was more that Sykes is even further away. Blaymire might never get the chance to hand the World Cup on a plate to NZ, but in terms of what England have got, he should be ahead of Sykes.

Brough will never play for England under Tony Smith unless he signs for Wire, the way the England team is picked today is so bent its untrue but there is nothing anyone can do untill we have an un-biased coach

Myler been picked was a total farce of a selection, Just as bad was the decision to not pick Brough. I'm convinced that the main reason he was selected was because he has signed for Warrington. You only have to look at the facts, Myler hasn't played since July. I'm not saying the Lad won't make it as a top player but I feel he is well over hyped. He gained his reputation on last seasons performances in the National League.

When your going up against the best you need something different tactical wise. I think Brough's kicking game would of done that. We will probably get another tonking by the Aussies and New Zealanders, but what does that mean to Tony Smith...nothing his first priority is to Wires, this was reflected in the all the Wires players in the train on squad.

How many in the ACTUAL squad shouldn't be there and who should be there instead?

I have a feeling he'll go for Tomkins and McGuire anyway.

Brough for Myler would improve the squad considerably.

Yes of course that was my original point.

If he's so biased towards Warrington why is Sykes in there? The inly one I'd change is LMS for Carvell. Bridge is a surprise but you can't pick Burrow to go in the centres.

Do I think he is biased? No. I'd rather have this squad than one with the usual suspects who faile to perform year in, year out.

the clincher for me is if he does not pick leon pryce for the big games, no form no class and cant raise his game, if hes picked smith has bottled it!

Brough has a far superior game than Myler

short kicking game
long kicking game
goal kicking
passing game
defence
speed on a par

but most of all the three things that Danny has over any of the half backs in the squad are:
experience
mental strength
attitude

Myler, Eastmond & Tomkins may all become better players than Brough but at this moment in time none of them are a better option at scrum half against Aus & NZ.

gonna be shot at for saying this but here goes, Brough played for Scotland and should never be considered to be picked for England and the same goes for any other player who has represented any country at any level no matter who or how good they are should not be allowed to switch nationalities just to get a game,

that's ok untill you factor in the RFL moving the goalpoasts by scrapping GB.

Brough and many others made a choice to represent the Celtic nations in the knoweledge that GB would still offer them the chance to play against Aus & NZ. As soon as GB was scrapped by The RFL that door was closed and the only way for those players to have a chance of taking the field against the best was to switch back to England.

So don't blame Brough and co blame the RFL for moving the goalposts
