to say the least we were not good tonight but catalans stopped us from making ground in the forwards and we struggled for an hour. let's not forget the season that we have had which is well above expectations and look forward to next year. NO blame to anybody for me.

I think what really bugs me is the fact that we had got ourselves into a position where we could have achieved something historic - one day a team outside the top 4 will win the grand final and i felt that we had the team and the coach and the motivation and momentum to do it this year. Fluffed our lines - so frustrating.

Have to agree i thought this could have been the chance for you to do well in the playoffs considering the players leaving this year and no guarantee that the new faces next year can gel together , however saying that you have proved a lot of people wrong this year and seems you do play well when having the underdog tag , i was gutted for you to lose as i didnt feel that catalans deserved to be progressing after what i feel to be a poor season for them , in place of a team that has been very good and consistent all year , unlucky and good luck for next year

Disappointing to bow out after such a promising season but can't complain after the effort the players have put in for the past 7 months. However, the club are now in possibly the most important off season of its history. I can take an early exit from the play offs as long as it's offset with a positive answer from the planning authorities!

After watching Leeds not get out of first gear on Friday and pull Hull KR apart (injuries before and during notwithstanding), it would be very hard to see past them taking a third successive crown.

Before Saints showed glimpses of their best again last night, I thought this would be the year for a team outside those two to make it to Old Trafford, including us. Now, I'm not so sure...

Doesn't hurt as much as the semi-final defeat last year, but we just need to build on this and make the play-offs again next year.

As a complete generallity, I would say that most of the players leaving were the ones who did not shine last night.

Ollie and Snitch were not great - until the last 20.

But this isn't about them, it's about those coming in and my point is that I feel that, with the exception of Ryan (and we have a quality centre replacing him), the others will be replaced with better players.

without falling into the "he's leaving us so he is rubbish" trap, what is your personal opinion of Atkins. looked good last night and also when you beat us at the HJ. Does he put in good performances every week? What are his strengths and does he have any weaknesses?

I'm not saying he didn't want to play. I only wanted to know when will anyone say he's definately signed for next season?

His contract is for next season its alonger deal we are trying to tie him down on.

Atkins is a consistently good performer. I guess he will get better in the coming years. Strengths - well his strength. Weaknesses - not many in my opinion but some feel he fails to feed his winger often enough.

ryan atkins is a rough diamond, great pace , very strong unfortunately never looks for his winger until after the collision and as a last resort. if smith coaches him into where and when to pass the ball he will be a world beater.

good luck to him . always gave 100% effort to wakey
