Me and my mate are booked on the CFW trip from Leeds/Bradford on Friday coming back Sunday.
CFW have today informed me that our accomodation, the citea in perpignan has been changed to some place in canet!!
Does this affect anyone else, how far is canet from central perp' how much in a cab??
Any ideas greatly received!!

There's not a great deal in Canet but it's a nice enough place with a very nice beach. Not to far from Perp and there is a bus service which takes about 20/30 minutes not sure on cab prices.

Its one euro on the bus to Canet. I would imagine about 30 euros at least for a taxi as its alot further away that the airpost which is 20 euro. Who is CFW ?

They advertise in the league express, they are based in Warrington, spoke to the guy who runs it about an hour since and he's happy to cover any taxi costs, so not a total catastrofe!

I stayed in Canet 2 weeks ago for the Hull game and it's a really nice place. Costs 1 euro and 10 cents for the bus to perpignan. It has a great beach and some nice restaurants. You'll enjoy it.

Supposed to be staying at the Citea on Saturday & Sunday nights. Booked through Acive Hotels but not been advised of any changes so assume we are okay.

Did they say why you have been moved ?

the e mail I received is as follows:

For your information we have encountered some problems with the Citea Hotel
during this season and have decided to drop this hotel as one of our
partners. I am delighted to inform you that we have upgraded all our
Wakefield clients to the Malibu Village Resort, which is located in the
Perpignan beach resort of Canet. All transfers are included and all
additional costs have been absorbed by CFW.

I don't think this should affect your booking.

over booked, but we booked in march the company said they have had problems before so they are no longer using that hotel . me & kinley cat are on a flight with 28 other wakey fans need to find out if every body in our party have been moved , we stayed in perpignan last time but we will travel up early saturday so its not a problem

I booked ages ago and this was the only hotel that was free at the time. There is something else going on in Perpignan on that weekend and thats why all the hotels are full.

Its the International Exhibition of Photo Journalism - its an annual event in Perpignan.

Hope they have not double booked our rooms at the Citea.

Canet is beautiful, beach is fantastic and nice restaurants.....lovely place if you are with your family to stop ,do not know what its like on a night as only went during day but would have recommended going there to anyone stopping in Perpignan anyway...enjoy just hope you have loads of money as the Perpignan area was expensive anyway prior to the demise of the pound against the euro.

About 40 euro's for a taxi of 4 into Perpignan.

Anyway, happens! We'll still have a laugh, so no bother. Do t think it will effect anyone else staying at the citea, booked through any other company etc. Just a company decision made by CFW as far as I can see.

Taxi is 10 euro mate, takes 10, 15 mins only. Beach is ok, few nice bars but not much else there. Its ok though.

cheers pal, your 10 euro taxi sounds better than the 40 euro quotes, it wasn't a Frenchman on a bike was it? Onions, stripey jumper etc......

I think you will find it is 10 euros each.

We had booked the Citea hotel through Catalan Sports tours and have now been moved to the Malibu Beach

Any reasons as to why you have been moved ?

Overbooking at the Citea, there is 8 of us now in Canet - Complex looks quite good though.

sorry for butting in on this,but it stinks.I've been 3 times to Perpignan (Warrington),the 1st time we booked with this company and stayed at the Malibu.Its a nice enough hotel/resort,but its a good 25-30 minute walk into Canet along a main road.Its in the middle of nowhere!!.
The 2nd time,we sorted our own flights and hotel.(stayed at Kyriad).No probs.
The 3rd time,we sorted our own flight,but they sorted out the Kyriad for us.1st night was fine.Saturday,day of game,we went out at 11am,got back at 2am next morning,to find,that our rooms had been given to a number of American backpackers!!and that we had been moved to l'hotel de la loge.

My advice for those staying at Malibu would be to check in and walk into Canet and the beach,it is quite nice and classy.On the day of the game,get taxis into Perpignan about dinnertime and spend the day there.Also stay for a few hours after the game and get taxis back.

If you've not ben before,enjoy it and good luck for the game.
