atkins leaves or is dropped the better..HIS defence tonight was crap

well done peterson tonight and the look that you gave that clown after senior walked through him said it all.

no doubt that adam will have some defence but this time there is none..

This might be a tiny excuse, but NO-ONE has yet to noticed atkins swapped sides tonight to try and combat senior "it didnt work for the full game"

Its difficult for players and especially in the centre position when your reciveng the ball from the opp direction, having to defend the other way, and he got caught out with that tonight.

Attacking wise senior was on top form tonight,

Two bad games doesn't ruin a player, he'l be back.

In fairness I think Gleeson vs Senior would've been a bit messier. Or just as messy. But Atkins was poor and uninterested.

The defence as mwildcat has pointed out is that he was playing on his wrong side tonight. Very unfair of you to go to town on him in this manner.

TBH I dont rate him and never have but you are wrong on this occasion.

Senior first try could have been avoided if Atkins had bent his back and tried to get under Senior to prevent him grounding the ball.

Have to say,i agree with crowt.Atkins is a poser/prima donna who doesnt do the hard work,he just wants the glory.

Atkins appears to be one of the rare breed of centre's who has the ability to pass the ball to his winger in both the left and right berth with equal measures of effectiveness.

Just unfortunate for us that his effectivness amounts to 7/8ths of knob all.

No,not at all,his defence which ever side he plays is poor.

Players are taught from 6 six year old with tackle bags to tackle from both sides.

In that case he needs to pass it to Peterson a bit more. I've noticed that he doesnt seem to pass it to him much and it was the same in the Giants game last week.

Atkins had an absolute shocker tonight !! Ive mentioned it b4 about centre play and Senior was class tonight in that area ... Atkins showed him too much respect tonight and if Atkins is meant to be the next big think for England then where having a laugh ...

mwildcats..take the blinkers off..he can't pass to his winger and he can't tackle..give me tony martin anytime. that bloke is a disgrace to the shirt..especially this year..he was crap last year and is worse this year..can't wait for him to be well away.

He should be dropped after that performance ...

Well ive put a thread on the three quarters keeping there place place on performance and not reputation ... John Kear has said i cant drop Atkins after playing for England ... Well can he drop a player after playing against Senior ?? TBH id get rid of Grix on the wing and get Murphy in now - I feel for Grix but hes leaking in more points than hes scoring and doesnt work well with Brough...

i agree with that he got skinned by Ablett(?) for the first try in a manner that suggested he shouldn't be playing there unless absolutely no option to. murphy to me gives a viable option and one that should be taken

I don't agree with this bit. I think Grix is playing very well. He has taken his tries very well, especially the long ball from Brough. Don't see why you think they can't play together at all. No evidence to suggest that,

If Murphy is to come in, then he plays in the centre instead of Atkins for me and leave Grix where he is.

Can't agree with that Grix is not a winger he's made a decent fist of it attacking wise over the last couple of games but in defence he has no idea as he is not a winger.

no way should grix be in effectively over atkins that is madness. ok atkins slipped up against senior at what turned out to be crucial times but he has been playing pretty well in most areas of his game (i accept his winger tends to get starved of ball). grix on the other hand is a liabilty in defence and has been pretty much found out every game he has played on the wing. the effort is there he just isn't a winger.

as for this atkins not putting the effort in it is nonsense imo, making mistakes yes, believing the hype - maybe/maybe not, but not trying i cant accept

Wasn't actually saying we drop Atkins at all, just that IMHO Grix is doing well at wing and I wouldn't replace him with Murphy.
BUT as people are pushing Murphy bescause Grix isn't a winger, we should be aiming Murphy at the centres not the wing spot as that is his preferred position.

Atkins had a pretty good game... he troubled Senior and vice verse... I was really dissapointed with Petersen he shoed a lot odf effort but looked short on confidence, and his positioning in defence was poor. JD did ok at stand off but his attempted tackle on Senior at the end was woeful...

Bibey, Stocic and korkidas were all excellent... but Steve Snitch has moved up several levels...

the positive is that we almost put away a full strength Leeds outfit, with a display of speed, strength and skill...

as I have said many times against Leeds.... they were lucky
